Overall Satisfaction with ProWritingAid
As a former language instructor, I've used this software quite often to solve my former company's issues. This software has been helpful in the creation of several grammar-based and writing-based assignments. As a language instructor, my work is supposed to have absolutely zero grammatical errors and the writing is expected to be top-notch. There have been days when I had a really bad writer's block or my judgment has been clouded by the lack of sleep, and those are the times that this software has been immensely helpful. This is applicable to my former colleagues as well.
Pros
- Accuracy level is quite high, even when it comes to plagiarism.
- Easy to use and beginner-friendly.
- Several features that cover different aspects of writing.
- Relatively affordable when compared to other softwares.
Cons
- There are extra fees for plagiarism check, even for those who have bought the subscription.
- Even the desktop version requires an internet connection.
- Thorough grammar check.
- Desktop version.
- Easy usage.
- Thesaurus.
- The writing reports are quite beneficial.
- Ideal for language instructors.
- It would be preferable if the plagiarism checker didn't have separate fee.
ProWritingAid is definitely cheaper and even offers a lifetime version which is quite reasonable. The grammar checks, syntax correction, and word suggestions are definitely better than Grammarly's. However, its features are quite limited, especially if you're using an Apple device. My work didn't involve thorough plagiarism checks and most of the employees used windows, so ProWritingAid was definitely the best choice.
