Overall Satisfaction with Qualys Cloud Platform

We used it for pre-release scans of our products each month. It was used by the Information Security team who would help the Development teams to ensure that products are bug-free before they get released to our customers.
  • Scan configurations were quick and easy.
  • Offers wide range of settings for more targeted scans
  • Informative reports
  • Navigation is pretty complex and involves a lot of pages to click through
  • Redundantly scans pages in vain with little to no modification in the alphanumeric query parameter values
  • Scan duration and coverage
  • Made automation of dynamic scans an easy task
  • Pretty good API support
  • Very informative reports
We actually moved out of Qualys Web Application Scanning to a different product as we found better options that helped us address the specific concerns we had. The concerns were around scan duration, coverage, and the ability of the scanner to learn an application's nature and put an end to reporting issues that in our case are not a risk.

It does have its pros but they are outweighed by the cons. There are better scanners out there. WAS gets stuck at scanning a single page for such a long time that it barely covers any part of the application before reaching the 24-hour limit and concluding testing. It could be also because of the nature of our application, but I would expect dynamic scanners to be a bit smarter than this.

Qualys Cloud Platform Support

They had a support page within the WAS to report any concerns or seek help. But the UI of that is not smooth. Regardless support staff were pretty responsive and helpful. They scheduled calls to understand and address our problems. Email support is good as well.
