Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) as OS on all of our compute and protocol nodes on our high performance computing cluster. WE need a stable and reliable product that could work under heavy load.

Pros

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is very good in stability and reliabilty
  • very convenient package manager

Cons

  • Network manager sometimes work not enough well
  • We have roughly 99, 9% failures due to to application not to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Stability is greatly improved
It is perfect for administrators but sometimes tough for end user because of not optimal GUI
It is more reliable than CentOS Stream and others. Also Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) has a convinent support.
