Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

We currently use Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to support the SAP environment, along with other applications needed by the company.

Pros

  • automated patching via Satellite
  • AD integration with SSSD
  • stability with long uptime

Cons

  • Alternate GUI options other than Gnome
  • better detailed information with leapp OS upgrades
  • better rollback options with yum
  • Easier to support patch management since Satellite moved to SLA
  • Easy to deploy an VM using VMware template and scripts
comfort and long term familiarity.
stable from a CMD perspective, but, in my opinion, Ubuntu offers better GUI alternatives
