We use RStudio alongside SAS and Stata. RStudio is a very powerful tool and in experienced hands, it can do everything needed. On the other side of this, there is a huge learning curve before a user can become proficient with RStudio. A major downside with Rstudio Server Professional is that it is not supported to be installed on Windows Server. Our environment is nearly all built around Windows protocols. Introducing RStudio Server Professional forced us into a mixed environment, which created many technical complications that needed to be addressed. SAS, on the other hand, supports Windows installations, making their enterprise solutions much easier to manage.
