Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization sells, designs and implements the software for bioscience & biopharma companies. We focus on the manufacturing processes that are used in these technologies and deliver SAP S/4HANA Cloud to the customer. We are able to handle the barcoding for products, 3PL warehouses and manage the multiple warehouses to assist in the various manufacturing scenarios that these companies use.

Pros and Cons

Manufacturing - batch control. This is a very robust area that SAP has been able to capture most needs for the various types of businesses.
Electronic Batch Records - this is in high demand. Our company is able to deliver this for the businesses that want to bring their manufacturing back in house to reduce the costs of third party manufacturing alongside keeping validated control of data.
Process Orders - SAP S/4HANA Cloud allows for different types of production processes, and it can re-use routings/recipes for various BoMs.

To finish out the cloud version so that it is as robust as the server/ Fiori version
Printer servers have been an issue and a pain point as of late - which is very important for manufacturing and printing labels.

Return on Investment

This does not apply to me, as I am on the implementation team

Usability

Ha, because I implement it, I have to go through rigorous testing and can get it fixed if not working as needed. So in my eyes, it is great. I am not sure how easy it is for new ERP users.

Alternatives Considered

I am not sure there is a comparison - just the price point alone makes a big difference. Other products I have implemented are no where near this cost, and do not have the abilities to function half as well as SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Everything I thought I wanted in the smaller SAP versioned software - it is here!

Likelihood to Recommend

I am used to manufacturing, so SAP S/4HANA Cloud is where it is at. I have used other software that seem to take SAP's work in SAP S/4HANA Cloud and try to mimic the functionality. Overall, the ability to have this system as a validated manufacturing system that you can also integrate the financial transactions with make[s] it an outstanding system. I have not worked with other GxP systems - this one has the good bones to get what is needed for these new technologies.
