Experience of using Saturn Cloud from a view of Data scientist in university
Overall Satisfaction with Saturn Cloud
It gives me extra computing power, especially when my programs need to run for hours or even dozens of hours. It helps a lot if you are a data scientist and researcher using R or Python. But one significant attractive fact of Saturn Cloud is that it provides a powerful R server since I don't use Python. I also recommend my colleagues use it when they need extra computing power because R is the main programing language in our group. But one little suggestion: more instructions on how to connect my Saturn cloud an Github could be very helpful.
Pros
- Operational stability
- Cheap running prices
- Friendly IDE interface
- The possibility of working together
Cons
- Personalised email alerts before auto-stop (customised times for early alerts)
- Possibility of resetting already planned resources
- Find tutorials more easily on my personal Saturn Cloud homepage
- The Saturn cloud helps me to get the results of my calculations faster and can help me to finish my thesis faster
- Saturn Cloud saves my PC from heavy computing, otherwise I would consider buying additional computers
- Saturn Cloud makes it easy for me to work with my colleagues
Saturn Cloud provides an R server, that's super important. Even you can write R on CoLab with different settings, but it is inconvenient and slow. Saturn Cloud can give me a different IDE environment that I'm more used to, even if I'm using Python. Whereas CoLab is more dedicated to Jupyter notebook
