Overall Satisfaction with SkillSurvey Pre-Hire 360

SkillSurvey is used by some of our clients as their tool for pre-employment referencing. We also use the tool ourselves, for our new hires. SkillSurvey allows us to vet all our new hires and some of our clients' new hires, so we know they're the correct choice for the job and there are no red flags.
  • It is very easy to use, so we don't have to spend time training others how to process reference checks.
  • SkillSurvey seems to gather many more responses than other vendors used. This is great because it stops us from having to physically call additional references.
  • We're able to gather leads from the references who complete the link and opt to be contacted by a recruiter. In the HR/recruitment world, this is seen as free leads!
  • Customizability is lacking, you have to choose from job titles that are already stored in the tool. Some clients don't like this.
  • There is no option for someone to opt to do the reference via phone, this could prevent someone from completing the reference.
  • We're able to collect more references, which allows us to clear candidates to start their jobs quicker.
  • The additional leads collected are sent to recruiters who are then able to have more candidates to reach out to for potential future employment.
  • Checkster and Checker
I've used a few other reference checking vendors, as well as have references completed through background checking vendors, and our company even tried to create our own reference tool. SkillSurvey is the best we've used yet. They gather the greatest percentage of references, quickly, and with the least amount of "technical issues". Again, the leads are also a bonus.
I think if any corporation wants to include reference checks in their pre-employment or selection process they should choose SkillSurvey. They seem to be the best of all the vendors I've used, and able to get the most completed references, as well as the leads as a perk. The only time I think it would be less appropriate is if the company was very small and reference checks via a tool such as SkillSurvey may be unnecessary.
