Overall Satisfaction with StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA)

Starwind HCA is used as the primary [solution] for our virtualization environment on Hyper-V. We run a wide selection of [virtual] servers on this [hardware]. Virtualization brings a large number of [advantages] over physical servers, and Starwind's HCA solution provided a very [cost-effective] solution for creating a [highly] [available], clustered storage and [virtualization] solution. Starwind's support has been great in transitioning from our old [environment] of Cluster-In-A-Box solutions.

  • More documentation -- particularly in regards to Starwinds VSAN
  • Management Console Could Use [Improvements].
  • More detail into what data is reported to Starwind ongoing.
  • Saved over 25k compared to previous vendors option.
  • Increased performance by moving to all SSD storage solution.
Starwind's monitoring provides an extra set of eyes on your [environment] to catch issues before they happen. We've only had a brief report of network issues that were resolved quickly. However, we look forward to having this extra support to catch issues with storage failings before they become [noticeable], this was always an issue with our previous solutions and we strongly desired a level of support like that offered by StarWind.
We have had no unplanned issues or outages at all.

For small [environments] this solution is perfect. It allows you to save a ton of money by not having to implement dedicated storage networks and [architecture], which are not easily justifiable at smaller organizations. The price/performance/[availability] combination provided by Starwind HCA is perfect for any small organization that needs high [availability] but can't justify the cost of dedicated sans.
