Overall Satisfaction with Spotfire

Spotfire is used for data analysis within my organisation. Mostly my department is using Spotfire. During the engineering phase, it is used to analyse the behaviour of a chip, e.g. at different temperatures or for corner lots. In the mass production phase, it is used in case of problems. In [our] daily work, we use Spotfire to provide weekly and monthly product data.
  • It can deal with a huge amount of data.
  • Different graphic charts can be chosen related to the data you want to show.
  • Spotfire provides a good filtering system in order to show specific data.
  • Sometimes I cannot tell if the data shown is right. The possibility of tracking data would be good.
  • Some tables cannot be exported to MS Power Point.
  • When importing data from clipboard the automatic matching is wrong sometimes and if you do not realise this you have empty tables later.
None. I only use MS Excel, which gives a better overview of data than Spotfire (you are able to check whether data is right or wrong). But Spotfire definitely provides better graphical solutions and filtering of data.
Microsoft Office
Spotfire can be used in case you know what result you want to get. You just feed Spotfire with necessary data and then it provides all kinds of graphical solutions [for] presenting your data.

Spotfire Training

It included different types of training. The basics training with the do-it-yourself tasks were very good. First a detailed explanation between 30 and 45 minutes showed basics and then these basics could be trained in provided do it yourself tasks.
