Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Spotfire
Spotfire was deployed a year ago in my organisation as the one single tool to replace various web applications, tools, software and other stuff for data analytics and advanced visualization. We started with one part of our value chain and it is now being deployed across the entire value chain namely sales, service, engineering and also the support functions.
- Advanced visualization.
- It can connect to all a variety of data sources and also integrate with other software like R, Python, Matlab etc., to enhance the usability.
- Easy to publish for any user to view through a web player without any need to install software.
- Some features or visualization demand that the data be embedded and it cannot work for external data.
- Axis scale adjustments for multiple scales are not that great.
- Exported visualizations to PDF or others don't look that good.
I have used Tableau Desktop which is almost similar to Spotfire! Both Spotfire and Tableau have their own pros and cons, which depending on various data connectivity options and other tool integrations, Spotfire stands better and while Tableau has some good advanced visualization with more intuitiveness and formatting.
