Unique Learning System Review
Overall Satisfaction with Unique Learning System
I use ULS for instructional delivery to deliver differentiated, standards-aligned lessons across core subjects like ELA, math, science, and social studies. I use ULS to deliver tiered, age-appropriate lessons in core subjects like English language arts, math, science, and social studies. The business problems addressed include covering Grade Levels: PreK through transition (up to age 22). Also, there is limited planning time as well as resources but the pre-built lessons, differentiated materials, and visual supports save time and reduce the burden.
Pros
- It provides differentiated, tiered Instruction.
- It provides visual Supports.
- It provides life skills.
Cons
- Teachers are unable to significantly modify or personalize content directly within ULS.
- ULS is primarily in English with limited bilingual options, which poses challenges in linguistically diverse communities.
- The platform difficult to navigate, especially for new users.
- There is a savings of 5–10 hours per week on lesson planning.
- In internal audits, schools using ULS had 20–30% fewer compliance errors related to missing progress data or misaligned instruction during IEP reviews.
- There has been a 40% increase in student participation rates during ELA instruction and 30% higher completion of independent tasks within the first semester of ULS use.
There is more time for teaching. There is a savings of 5–10 hours per week on lesson planning, thanks to ULS’s ready-to-use monthly instructional units, differentiated materials, and built-in visual supports. Daily structure and routines are consistent and predictable with patterns. Differentiated instruction is built in. Planning transitions and life skills is easier. For home-based instruction, ULS helps sustain instructional continuity through printable take-home packets.
One of my students, who is non-verbal and non-mobil, was able to hear as well as partially see the pictures. He was also able to listen to the stories and questions. Although he was cognitively older, it was difficult to access him, and since he was in Junior High, his mom did not want any preschool work for him. She seemed somewhat satisfied with the program over others.
ReadWorks offers specialized resources tailored for diverse learners, particularly those with special needs. For example, News-2-You focuses on current events with accessible content, while Boardmaker provides customizable visual supports and communication tools.
