Overall Satisfaction with Unique Learning System

We use this for curriculum for our transition students, and students K-12 who have more profound disabilities.

Pros

  • Reading work for middle-transition
  • Transition lessons
  • Good use of visuals

Cons

  • Math needs more practice materials
  • Saves time
  • Planning is a breeze
I find the benchmarking, progress monitoring, and assessments to be more difficult to use. Most of what I use is printed on paper (we try to avoid screens).
Although the math lessons lack the practice my students need, the way the lessons teach concepts is very good.
A lot of the online components are more difficult to use, especially when we try to not use screens (they cause problems with kids who only want screens for entertainment and when they're locked into a program, screens fly.)
ULS, N2Y, and Symbolstix each play a role in the classroom. I really like them all.

I always recommend Unique to our teachers who have kids with lower skill levels. I like the differentiation within lessons/units.
