Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use vSphere in our organization for our virtualized workloads. vSphereprovides a solution for growing organizations that have way too much of a physical presence. Without vSphere, datacenters would be filled with single-purpose, standalone servers. 99% of our environment currently runs on vSphere. I have used it in my previous jobs and still do in my current one.

An immense community and tons of knowledgebase/documentation.

Positive - with so many products under their suite, management and support is a breeze.

Support Rating

vSphere support has been great over the years. Regardless of the complexity of the problem, they have a tier of engineers ready to assist. Although sometimes they are slow to finding a resolution, it is understandable.

It is a highly documented suite. If you are unsure of how to do something, a simple search will yield hundreds of results showing you how to do it. Support is also available if you need to talk to an expert.

Contract Terms and Pricing Model

Pricing is fair for the most part, it's hard to compare against others when they have the largest market share. Billing is easy to handle and there are no surprises.

Likelihood to Recommend

vSphere's suite of products can get expensive but are generally best in segment. They have a strong team and generally know what they are doing. For most small businesses, I feel there are more affordable options out there that can generally do most things well enough if vSphere is out of your price range.
