I use xpert HR to ensure i am following legal compliance for each state as we have employees all over the US. I recently used expert HR to research a presentation topic and there were so many articles i did not expect to be on the platform. I personally have not yet ran into any problems with the site.
  • State by state guidance
  • staying up to date on new developments
  • articles on topics i run into for employee situations
  • sometimes it takes me a while to find the correct guidance on how long a non resident can work remotely from a different state before having to pay that states taxes
  • Loading the web page takes a while but that may be our internet
  • I would like to see the home page be more personalized
Xpert HR is well suited for HR professionals. I do not see it being a heavily used resource outside of HR. When i was researching a presentation topic, i enjoyed how many articles i found that gave very detailed information regarding the topic i was presenting on. I do feel like when i need a quick answer, Xpert HR is not always my first resource because I do tend to have to do some digging to find the answer i need on the site.
  • This has saved time by designating each HR memeber as a SME for different regions we can use the state feature to look up our state
  • the current development and recently implemented box at the top of the state page is a quick resource to check if out SME states have any updates
  • Overall it has saved time on research and cost by not always having to reach out to the legal team for answers
Xpert HR heavily impacts our compliance by ensuring we are following compliance when letting employees work remotely from another state, looking up if we can withold company equipment during a term, and how long we have to give them their final paycheck. When employees ask very specific questions i can typically search phrases and receive guidance.
It has helped our HR generalists be more independent in their role because we can look here for the answers instead of always having to reach out to our direct manager for help. The email updates always ensure we are up to date on any changes and keeping us in compliance.
We also use SHRM but i do not use that platform as much i really only use that site for articles. I personally am not aware of any other software that we use. I believe upper management has acccess to more than the generalits to. I was not in the decision making process

Our HR team uses Xpert HR to learn more about the regions we support, employment laws, and staying up to date with any legal changes we need to be aware of for states we are responsible for. We also check Xpert HR when we come across a new situation and use articles as reference.

  • Online Training
The people on the call training us were very friendly and knowledgeable! They helped me learn of new tabs for finding templates to create new trainings to update departments on policies and procedures. It also has great excel sheets so i can see side by side differences between states regarding different laws and compensation changes.
I think it is very simple to navigate and requires little training to get the hang of it and find resources. I dont think its too complex and if there are questions, helpdesk is very quick to assist! i also do not think its too limited, there are so many great features!
Best practice is to set alerts for what you are responsible for being up to date on. Brightmine sends regular emails with any updates you request to help remind you so you don't have to go in and search for it. I also recommend utilizing the templates and power points. there is great and extensive information on the training tabs
No - we have not done any custom code
No I did not add any special customization other than email alerts. I did customize my alerts to what i get emails for. We are responsibility for specific state laws and updates so we get emails sent to us when there are any updates to those states, this customization has been very helpful!
I reached out to Brightmine support when i could not get logged in and i received a personal response within hours that was very helpful! I love that it was a real person and not automated. This type of support makes me feel that their support team truly cares about getting issues fixed timely.

Yes
I was getting an error message when i tried logging in and reported the issue after several attempts to login to the system.
My quick response time and the personal response from the support team with their sincere apologies for the issues i was experiencing to me felt like exceptional customer service.
The website is so easy to use and navigate through. I check this website weekly on the states i am responsible for and it is so well organized to quickly find those states. I also use this to check up on information with policies and laws i run into and all the information is quick and easy to find.
  • State and local page
  • legal timetable
  • powerpoints and training guides
  • sometimes the search bar cannot give me exactly what i want but my searches may just be too specific
All of HR can easily access the software and use it to meet their needs and responsibilities.
It is almost always available when I need it. I have only ran into 2 situations where i received an error message and could not get logged in but was told this was a widespread issue that would quickly be resolved.
Everything loads quickly and is exactly where i need it to be. I like how the sidebar breaks down different sections of policies for each state to help me find what i am looking for or gives suggestions or documents to review that may also be helpful

Ease of use - we want to support the team with an easy to use platform that can support the knowledge they already have and be a place to educate with new information. We want them to quickly be able to get in and find the information they need to support them, usually in those moments of pressure.
I requested access to an additional country and they came back very quickly and quickly granted me access.

It's great and mostly user friendly. Some of the team have skipped over great information in there as the site was not as intuitive as expected, e.g. finding particular templates.
