Our accounting department uses Sage Intacct for a wide variety of ERM functions including general ledger, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation. Intacct also provides us with tools that help address internal controls and allows lighter users a read-only view of our accounting system, which is useful for executive users and auditors alike. Intacct's reporting function is quite robust and allows us to create financials that match our unique needs in the highly regulated insurance industry. Additionally, budgeting and budget reports are pretty intuitive using Intacct's ability to incorporate multiple dimensions. Sage Intacct has provided us with a much more efficient ERM package than our previous solution.
  • Flexibility - Sage Intacct provides us with a wide variety of user-friendly ERM functions.
  • Reporting - Sage Intacct uses several dimensions that, combined with a robust reporting tool, make reports usable . That's a rarity in ERM.
  • Security - Sage Intacct has a security function that is easily customized and allows flexibility for company size when it comes to controls, authorizations, etc.
  • Imaging - Sage Intacct makes it easy to tie transactions to invoices, emails, and any other document you want. This would normally be handled by a separate tool, but Intacct makes attaching images seamless.
  • Vendors - Adding vendors is easy. However, separation of controls is a little sticky in this area. We'd like to be able to restrict our users' ability to add/edit vendors and create payments to them. Vendor approvals would help us mitigate this problem.
  • Corrections - making errors in an ERM system is inevitable. Most of the time Sage Intacct allows us to reverse mistakes, but not everywhere.
  • Interface - most of the UI is smooth and easy to understand. There are a few locations that looks different, which creates a bit of a choppy experience.
I believe Sage Intacct would be able to handle general ledger and other functions for small and large companies alike. I have actually used the product at three employers during my career and the product is very flexible in what it allows a company to do. Companies may run into challenges if they process a large volume of checks as Intacct is not ideal for that kind of volume. The system also does not easily allow for creating flat files that are helpful in creating bank files (such as ACH payments), but it can be done! Sage Intacct does a nice job of reaching out to its customers and trying to improve their product. Their previous solution for fixing routine problems was employment of a community website where users can go to ask for or offer solutions. I found this approach to customer service was not a particularly easy way of finding answers, but since my last time using the product, Sage has added a contact for direct support. These two options together make the customer service approach far more palatable.

We use Sage Intacct for many different functions in our organization. I use it for AP and bank reconciliations most often. It has created significant efficiency in our bank reconciliation process - taking our reconciliation/month end process from 5-7 business days to complete down to 1-2 business days. For AP, it has created efficiencies with uploading, approving and paying bills. We have been able to eliminate our use of paper, only needing to use it if companies send paper bills or they only accept paper check payments.
  • staying up to date with technology
  • very user friendly
  • creates business efficiencies
  • great customer service
  • improvements on submitting AP bills for approval
Sage Intacct is very user friendly and always being updated to help our business become more efficient. We do not currently use it for our accounts receivables due to the style of business we do.

We are a General Contractor that used Sage 100 for 10 years before making to switch to Intacct
  • Integrates with Procore
  • Extensive reporting capabilities
  • Automated monthly activities
  • Sage 100 had a Project Summary Screen. A one stop shop for all project related information. We can build something similar in a Dashboard but it isn't as good as Sage 100.
  • In Sage 100 issuing joint checks was a breeze. It is a very frustrating and time consuming process in Intacct.
  • We have only been live for a couple of months but these are the two most frustrating issues at the moment.
Overall SAGE Intacct is a vast improvement over SAGE 100. However, there are some simple features in 100 that we took for granted that are not in Intacct which is frustrating.

We currently use Sage Intacct mostly in our Accounting and Finance Department. We have created dashboards so that Program Heads can see their data on an as-needed basis and they can have real-time access to it. It also allows them to review their grants. Prior to installing Sage Intacct, we used QuickBooks. This presented problems in terms of being able to look at the company from different perspectives. Now, with Sage Intacct, we can see financial information in various dimensions and obtain information that previously required exporting data and manipulating spreadsheets.
  • It provides grant reports across different periods rather than just the fiscal year.
  • The report writing function allows us to create reports that are only limited by our imagination.
  • It has a multitude of functions that we haven't yet explored but will undoubtedly allow us to consolidate various accounting functions in one place.
  • I wonder if a "wizard" capability can be built-in. Getting the most out of the software is time-consuming - which is fine, but I think I would adapt more functions if it were slightly easier to construct reports.
  • I wonder if you could build in excel sheet functions within Sage.
The dimension reporting is out of this world! The sky is the limit now as to how many grants we can bring in because of Sage Intacct.
I would like to see a more robust scenario/projection feature. I use projections a lot in keeping track of grants. It would be nice to be able to do that within Sage.

Our company uses Intacct for almost all accounting needs. Our use of the program ranges from creating and emailing invoices, A/P, and journal entries. Having most of our accounting needs met with a single program has made our job simpler. However, the biggest issue we have had with the program is overall system slowness. The offline job queue can get backed up with thousands of jobs during the month, which can result in jobs we attempt to process offline failing due to timing out. Contacting customer support will not result in an immediate solution if it requires their engineering team to look into the issue; we have had support cases remain outstanding for months. Overall, Sage Intacct meets our company's basic needs, but system slowness can occur with more modules added.
  • Easy to use
  • All inclusive
  • Makes invoicing simple
  • System slowness
  • Customer support response time
  • Printed doc templates can be frustrating to create
Sage Intacct is well suited for handling basic accounting needs for a business. This includes invoicing, tracking A/P, and generating financial statements. Sage Intacct would not be appropriate if your business plans to implement various add-ons, as this can result in system slowness that the Sage Intacct support team will not be able to fix in a timely manner.

Sage Inracct is used across the whole company. It is mostly used for company financials, but our project managers use reports to help run their jobs. The financial part of Intacct works very well. With the new Construction module, the project accounting is much better. We can now do more inside of Intacct and not have to do it in excel.
  • The cash management module is very easy to use and works well. Makes bank reconciliations easy.
  • The Report Center is very nice; there are many standard reports. But the report writer is great, gives you the ability to create reports for what you need.
  • AP and AR modules are also very easy to use. The Manage View feature is very handy to help sort by specific things to make finding entries easy.
  • The Project module needs more functionality. It is basically a data entry area. The schedule of values isn't in Intacct at all. You have no visibility of invoices by project or to be able to tell what invoices on that project are open without going to a different module and running reports. In the Project module, you get very high-level information, but you're not able to get any good detail.
  • Purchase orders cannot be edited/updated after they have been partially converted. This is a big oversight; it is very common to have to add items to a PO, especially for items like freight which is completely unknown at the time of PO creation. You should be able to at very least be able to add new likes to a PO after partial conversion.
  • You should be able to have as many Project Items/cost codes as you want. If you're a project-based company and all projects are completely different, you need to be able to track against many items.
Sage Intacct is a very good day to day accounting system, but where they have improved greatly is with the addition of the Construction and Real Estate module. This has give us much more functionality in tracking our project contracts and profitability. They have also added a change management function to be able to create change orders to PO's, project contracts and project estimates. There is still room for improvement in the change management functionality, as it is currently kind of cumbersome. But they are continually adding functionality and improving all areas of the system.

We're using Sage Intacct for accounting for two entities. The program is very robust. It allows for tailored reporting to meet specific needs across the two entities. We can also easily create summarized as well as detailed reports. The audit trail is strong. Integrations with other apps have made the journal entry process much easier, too.
  • The ability to tailor the system to our needs is a big help.
  • We were able to set up the account number structure in such a way that easily allows for detailed or summarized reporting.
  • Integrations with other apps have created time savings for our team.
  • The program is expensive for smaller organizations.
  • Learning how to create custom reports has been a challenge. Good quality training is important.
Our office handles accounting for two different entities with a large number of funds. Sage Intacct's program has the capability of handling everything we were looking for and is very capable of growing with us.

In my business we use Sage Intacct for various different things. These mostly include general accounting, PR creation and payroll. We also take advantage of the integration features on offer which has helped us address efficiency problems within the business and streamline processes.

This has helped to eliminate human error from everyday accounting tasks.
  • Sage Intacct's customisation features are quite useful since they enable us to customise it to meet our specific business requirements. Custom reports and account charts are something we can create to improve the overall experience.
  • Payroll and CRM integration have really helped us as a business. This has increased the accuracy across the department and ensures we are all looking at up to date information.
  • Perhaps most useful of them all is how simple Sage Intacct is to use, even for the new user. We have found it very intuitive to use and like the modern design that makes finding the necessary information straightforward.
  • We have found that some users find it difficult to get started on Sage Intacct, as all the information can be a little overwhelming for the new user. A guided approach for new users or a simpler set up could assist with this.
  • We have also found there can be quite a steep learning curve when it comes to learning the full functionality of Sage Intacct. This can be even harder if the new users aren't familiar with accounting software in general. I think having more support during on boarding would help with this.
  • We have had some issues with setting up some of the integration features. Once set up they are fantastic and help a lot but getting through the initial set up can be challenging and take quite some time and effort.
I find that Sage Intacct has been very well suited to our business, this is due to our business being a large international business with employees worldwide. This means we needed our accounting software to be accessed and processed by people world wide. We needed software that could keep up with our demands as a business. It may be less suited to very small start ups that only have a handful of employees.

We use Sage Intacct as our system of record for accounting. Sage Intacct allows us to have tighter control over user permissions, better reporting capabilities, and the ability to integrate with many other SaaS tools to automate many of our processes.
  • Dimension reporting makes it really easy to keep a streamlined chart of accounts and still be able to slice and dice the data in many ways.
  • Sage Intacct's marketplace partners has allowed us to integrate with many tools to automate many of our processes.
  • AP approvals rules are limited when compared to other products. Even when compared to the approval rules available in Intacct's Purchasing module, AP approval capabilities are quite limited.
  • Prepaid module is okay to use but it outdated and needs a UI refresh. The pages are not as intuitive as it could be and populating the fields are clunky.
As our company scales and moves towards becoming a public company, audit controls are extremely important and Sage Intacct does a very good job of setting custom user/role permissions. The dimensions in Intacct are also well suited for our company as we have multiple departments and cost centers. Dimensions allowed us to trim our chart of accounts but still allow us to slice and dice data in ways we couldn't do previously in our old accounting system.

We use Sage Intacct at the heart of our operation. All sales are done using Intacct. We also use it for stock availability. This makes Quoting/Invoicing very easy as we do not need to rely on our warehouse for constant stock counts of individual line items. Further than these features we can also use Intacct for internal messaging which is very valuable when our logistics department has loaded new shipments into the system which the sales team can then begin selling.
  • Quotes
  • Invoices
  • Support
  • Stock availability when checking item codes before entering the item into the quote/invoice.
  • More detailed descriptions of the item before entering the item into the quote/invoice.
  • Community messages more user friendly - "Mark all messages as read"
Intacct is great for growing businesses with many branches and possible branches to be opened in the future. It really allows teams to communicate well together in the company using the internal community features.
Most of the issues experienced thus far have mainly been as a result of implementation misunderstandings.

Full Cycle International Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Financial Reporting, cash and credit card reconciliation, etc. We use multiple layers of fields and coding for reporting structure. We're integrating 3 ERP systems into Sage Intacct globally. We're in process of onboarding hundreds of employees to Sage Intacct. Company restructuring for growth with acquisitions. Our AP team is in process of reviewing the benefits of AP Automation. We utilize the collaboration center and approval layers in Sage Intacct and frequently keep up with the Quarterly releases from Sage Intacct to benefit our team.
  • Collaboration Center - Incredibly useful for Deadline requests, training purposes, audit trails attached to correlating support.
  • Project Coding - Easy to follow and code to PO's and Invoices.
  • Department and Service Line ID's are fields we just included but have been useful for reporting in our organization.
  • Calculating VAT Tax Subtotals accurately.
  • Editing Invoices after they're posted or paid if it's in the same period!
  • Collaboration Center checklist where you don't have to see every tag but more of a completed or still pending status.
Sage Intacct is by far the best ERP system I have used over the years. It's the most user friendly and customizable system for large scale accounting. There are always going to be areas that have room for improvement but from what I have experienced working with Sage Intacct is that they're continuously improving every quarter with new releases trying to meet client needs.

There are specific nuances but once you familiarize yourself with them Sage Intacct is quick to learn.

  • Short Down times
  • Ease of access to information (Profile specific)
  • Layouts too complicated/ over detailed

I use Sage to track all the monthly financial activities. So there is a lot of entries I am posting in Sage on a monthly basis.
The problems that Sage addresses for me is being able to easily correct an entry if it was posted wrong. The Edit feature saves a lot of time and allows the data to look cleaner rather having voided entries on the reports.
  • Journal Entries
  • Customizable Reports
  • A/P
  • Even though the reports are customizable I wish it was easier to pull P&L for any unique date range
  • For Bank Reconciliation I like seeing the Debit and Credits all on page instead of having to use the filter buttons
  • Also on Bank Reconciliation I like to see what had already been matched still on the same page as the unmatched ones but still have the option to filter them off of course but sometimes being able to see it all on one page instead of filtering back and forth
Well suited for many journal entries and being able to research entries are easy.

Not well suited for pulling P&L for unique dates without having to add in special reporting

I use Sage Intacct for our part department of an electric contracting company. I am able to create purchase orders as well as inventory lists to send to our project managers and vendors. Sage Intacct has made this process easy and straight forward, we're able to update the system when we find road bumps that would otherwise slow our processes and continue to move forward with our procedures. While there have been hiccups with the transition to Sage Intacct, I feel that the system will be a much better option than what we were working with previously. Everything in Sage Intaact is easily accessible and in one system, while before we were using 2-3.
  • Converting
  • Purchase Orders
  • Kits
  • Adding multiple quantities of the same part is impossible it seems. We have different lengths of wire needed on the same jobs at times.
  • Training was very confusing, changing vocabulary and being on the same page about what the topic for that meeting would be.
  • Saving a kit as a draft would be a helpful feature.
I have been pleasantly surprised with how easy the transition actually was once my colleagues and I were working with it together. However the training meetings definitely need improvement on Sage's part. For my job in the parts department however it has eased a bit of stress and lessened how long data entry can take. With that being said I don't typically recommend software to my friends and my entire company has already gone through the transition to be working in Sage Intacct.

Personally, I utilize Sage for Accounts Payable. Coming from a non-finance background and working at a non-profit organization with many funding sources and departments, I have found Sage Intaact to have a moderate learning curve. Overall, the system offers many capabilities, but is not very intuitive. Small tweaks to the system based on customer feedback would make working within the software more efficient and useful.
  • Ability to export data in various formats
  • Sorting functions
  • Custom views
  • Detailed explanations when "errors" are generated in various environments such as uploads and invoice entry (currently the details provided don't seem to end up matching what the issue actually is and are not clear in terms of how to resolve/proceed)
  • No ability to merge duplicate vendors
  • Lacking option to "post" multiple bills in draft state, must do individually which takes a lot of time each week when we pay bills
Sage seems to be more appropriate for larger, corporate type companies that are focused on purchasing with limited funding sources and grant requirements. As a nonprofit user, the system is very finance oriented, which isn't as approachable when trying to outsource/train certain tasks to our various departments.
