We use Lansweeper in the company for several functions, among them it is related to the inventory and control of all assets in our network (Desktops, Notebooks, Servers, Switches, IP Phone, Materials in stock...) in addition to keeping the monitoring of our environment VMware Hypervisor. We recommend using Lansweeper for a company's entire IT environment by taking inventory of assets online. Lansweeper enabled us to successfully pass 5 Microsoft audits in compliance.

LANSweeper Is currently used as an inventory system for our entire WAN. Every computer reports in to LANSweeper when someone logs in. LANSweeper is also configured to randomly scan our network for new devices. We use it to monitor issues like drive space, toner levels, and Antivirus status. For an inexpensive solution, LANSweeper really a one-stop shop for a lot of necessities.

Lansweeper is used for many IT functions. It shows me all my network-connected devices, including details about my PC's and Servers. I can see what processor, RAM, and Hard drives they have, so if I'm planning to upgrade, this makes it easier. I can also see who is logged on to that PC and its IP address. It also scans the PC's for what software they have and if the hard drive is full. You can create canned or custom reports using simple SQL code that many users provide to create the reports and alerts. I have one alert that tells me if a printer is getting low on toner. Another that looks at my domain server for any users that have locked their account. I also have a very nice helpdesk module that you can also create reports and alerts on. Lansweeper is so easy to create what you need due to the SQL aspect of it. And if you have less than 100 devices, it's free.

Form helpdesk to an automated inventory scan, Lansweeper has saved us so much time it's immeasurable. We (for the IT department) bought Lansweeper primarily to keep up with software licenses and to manage hardware warranties, but it's a very valuable asset management tool all around. We probably only use a few of its functionality, but it's worth the lesser price just for that.

We are currently utilizing Lansweeper as our go-to IT asset inventory database. Prior to installation, we were able to discern data from Active Directory, countless Excel sheets, and "chicken-scratch" notebooks to track inventory and serials. Lansweeper has allowed us to centralize our inventory into one location, which automatically updates as we make changes to our environment.

In our university, Lansweeper is mainly being used for computers and hardware inventory over the network and outside our network. We needed an inventory solution that wasn't requiring the server to probe the clients for security reasons. It's now being used by nearly all our IT staff departments. Also, we needed something where we could show data on multiple angles because we have different IT teams over several buildings that support specific VLANs of machines.

Lansweeper is currently being used by my organization as our main inventory tool. Let me say from the very start that I did not configure Lansweeper for us, so my obervations and reviews are based on the current configuration that we use and what I have done with it. We do not use the software deployment features, only the inventory, but for what we use it for it works very well. I run it from a virtual server, and I can check to see how many PCs have what software installed, I can see a current users PC name, or vice versa, and see a certain PC's current user. I can also set up collections based on software.

We selected Lansweeper after reading reviews and talking to other users. It was being used to address license compliance in our varied network which included a few business units, mobile users, and home workers. The best thing about Lansweeper is the price - it is cheap. The other thing is that it can pick up all the hardware assets on our network and we can make a diagram about where everything resides. However, we found that agentless has a huge drawback - it will only scan what it can see. In our varied network, we didn't see some users for weeks, other networks and business units were invisible and this really wasn't a product for our environment. We needed agents.
What really hit home was the recognition or lack of. Microsoft recognition was not bad but the datacenter needed total manual intervention. Office 365 wasn't picked up and no usage statistics. Anything beyond Microsoft/Adobe Acrobat/Sophos was a challenge. In conclusion, if you're 50 or 100 users, go for Lansweeper. If more complex, don't waste time or embarrassment in having to change the product later.

We use lansweeper as a monitoring, alerting and asset management tool. The product is used only by our IT department (systems and network administrators). This tool helps our help desk technicians easily find a user or computer, find necessary information about configuration, membership, network information, etc. We have several branch offices and lansweeper helps us with asset management and physical inventory. It allows us to build and run different types of reports that are being requested by IT managers. Also, we are using this tool as an event collection and alerting system. It's easy to configure and use; does not require additional deep education to be used for Tier 1 level of support. The web interface allows us to use this tool from any endpoint within the company's network.

Lansweeper is being used in various ways throughout my organization. In our IT department, we are using it for discovering and maintaining our software licenses, tracking support needs through the help desk feature, and of course use its capability to inventory our desktop and server infrastructure. We also are using it as a knowledge base for end users.
