AWS IoT Core

AWS IoT core is well suited in usecases where huge amount of data is to be collected and processed without managing the servers internally. It should be adopted by clients dealing with consumer durables, safety products to learn and enhance the products based on customer usage.Mostly suitable in auto sector to analyse driver behavior and develop products to alarm drivers.

FlexiHub

We’ve put FlexiHub through its paces to see if it’s any good for remote vehicle health checks. We tried the app out with a handful of USB devices for car diagnostics and so far, everything is going smoothly. We also worked to develop an iOS app for remote diagnostics. Our testers from another office easily connected over the Internet thanks to FlexiHub. FlexiHub works perfectly in UDP connections, and needs an Internet connection. But there is no opportunity to work over LAN. This can be an issue.

Cons

AWS IoT Core

  • It would be great to have better integration with other IoT products outside of AWS
  • It has been lagging in some of our applications. It's difficult to tell whether this is on AWS IoT or on our implementation
  • It would be great to support a wider range of protocols

FlexiHub

  • Stable connections, but some devices are not recognized correctly
  • Pricing is too high

Usability

AWS IoT Core

AWS IoT Core 8.8
Based on 5 answers
After adopting AWS IoT Core in our company it became clear that the whole platform was designed with usability in mind. It not only refers to IoT Core, but also applies to the remaining Amazon services. What we like the most is the fact that every phase from provisioning to maintaining provides great level of usability.

I give it this rating because the support is always there if we need help, but they aren't always able to help us with our problems and sometimes have to transfer us to another support technician. So overall, the support for AWS IoT is pretty good and I am very satisfied with it.

Alternatives Considered

AWS IoT Core

The customer was native in AWS and has found AWS offers more related services to what they were looking for. Additionally, the customer also wants the services able to connect to multiple downstream analytics such as AI/ML services. This allows them to generate more by-product services such as predictive maintenance analytics, etc.
