AWS SaaS Boost provides us with effective visualization capabilities of data. It also enables us integrate with a number of software but with some limitations. It has wonderful data merging capabilities .Boost's code is customizable enabling us modify it to meet our environmental requirements when needed. To use it well, one has to have high coding skills and should be familiar with AWS entanglements.

IBM
IBM Aspera on Cloud is the most effective and reliable platform for large file transfers. The transfer process is highly secured with end-to-end encryption to enhance data safety. It streamlines data management infrastructure with full data visibility and team controls. Sharing data across different geographical locations with my colleagues enables me to monitor workflows and intercept bottlenecks that can affect performance.

If you have a lot of customers that all need to have a separate place to work in, without the possibility of getting in each other way, and you want to safe yourself a lot of work. Than I strongly recommend you Cloud director. Ofcourse, only if you have a VMware environment as your working environment. If you just have a small group of customers and you can easily handle the work that's coming from it, then it is overkill to add cloud director to your environment. In a later station, you can always introduce cloud director (so tis never to late if you still want to use it)

  • An scope for improvement would be if IBM Aspera on Cloud allowed users to preview files (especially larger videos or images ) before tranfer and also can include a 2nd verification before sending files to reduce chances of errors .
  • In our Organzation we have three regional offices with different fireball configurations . The first time we tried transferring media files around 30 gb from our office other , it failed initially because certain ports were not open and permissions had to be adjusted in multiple steps .But once configured , transfers were quick .So setting up multiple remote office with varying network conditions can be confusing especially for new users .

  • The add-on/extension required on the internet browser sometimes are difficult to get working at first. We've experience instances where the add-on/extension latest versions will not work and have to downgrade to an older version.
  • The server console lacks features and tools. For example it would be useful to have a copy and paste tool or a file upload tool.
  • The vCloud Director management site uses Adobe Flash, which makes it impossible to use on a mobile device.

The interface is very pleasing and so easy to use. I have never used a program that was so simple and so effective. Other programs have too many unnecessary features and make everything really daunting and then you just go elsewhere. IBM Aspera is perfect for easy transfers with minimal features.

IBM
The service provided by the authorized vendor was excellent. It was a good collaboration between the vendor IT team and internal IT team. They provided us with a timeline and we verified and approved that timeline. Daily stand ups and weekly meetups were conducted to update the internal team on progress. They were able to deliver all deliverables on time also, they conducted both alpha testing and beta version testing in time. Overall, they were able to complete the implementation in the given timeline.

These cloud storage products deliver sufficient space to store data and access and have an array of ways to transfer this data and keep it secure. IBM Aspera on Cloud focuses on the transfer and makes it a lot faster mainly due to its patented tech and altered UDP protocol. Since most of production code uses IBM services, it was natural to go with IBM Aspera on Cloud.

vCloud Director is definitely my favorite as far as cloud managers. The only thing that compares is Cisco UCS Director, but it has slightly different functionality and purpose. I understand why a lot of clients still go with vCloud Director even though VMware intends to sunset it
