If you are printing anything smaller than 11x17, you are probably better off using your highest quality office copier. But for wide format, popping graphics, or heavy bond paper (such as canvas or vinyl) the Canon imagePROGRAF is an amazing weapon to have in your arsenal. The actual machine and ink is less than my company was paying to outsource our larger printing needs.

A daily workhorse that will print and print and print , it is easy on the wallet for ink cartridges and its dead easy to swap out a new cartridge when one runs out. But you get good milegae out of a cartridge and unless you are printing high quality colour photos, the cartridges will last a long time. For its price it packs a punch that a lot of more expensive printers cannot even get close to. I would recommend it to anyone and have done!! A+ 5 stars!!

  • I mainly print in black and find it incredibly wasteful that the printer just seeps the other coloured ink covers and requires these to be replaced even when I am only printing black. But all printer manufacturers do this, but there must be a better way.

Having no experience in printing or graphic design, the Canon imagePROGRAF proved more user friendly and had less steps to learn for basic operation. Now I have learned to use the layout program, as well as routine maintenance (such as changing out paper rolls or ink) without depending on a tech or senior management having to assist me. Super user friendly!

Canon PIXMA-PRO model is much slicker and easier to integrate into my system, works flawlessly with minimal care or upkeep required. And its cheap for ink cartridges and has the extra large black cartridge which allows you to print and print, much longer than most other printers, without needing to switch out or replace the cartridges
