DonorSearch vs. MemSys

When doing research, it's been very helpful to see real estate ownership along with SEC holdings in one spot which has been helpful in leads. However, with the real estate, at times it doesn't match the names on the property records which adds an additional step on my end to complete

It is well suited in a public media organization that uses a separate tool for tracking donor touches and engagement and has a separate donation page. In my opinion, it is not a great use case if you are looking for something intuitive or easy to use.

• Too many names included even when the correct address has been provided for the initial query
• Not providing total clarity about DonorSearch specific definitions
• Providing too much info from low-quality profiles

Very clean interface and easy to navigate based on labeling. Also, the onboarding process is very easy to follow and understand! DonorSearch also does weekly webinars that help and are insightful when looking to learn new things about the system

DonorSearch was the first product we onboarded for our donor research and haven't left them because of the success we have had with them so far!

MemSys was selected because of its features specific to public media. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it does not show features that would enable it to compete with other CRM systems well.

• There has not been a negative impact
• We have been able to get a jumpstart on many leads
• We are able to see whose giving aligns with our organization

• Decrease in donor retention due to slow receipting and access to our special features
• Slowed productivity due to increased manual entry from lack of integration with various payment processors.
