Everbridge IT Alerting vs. Squadcast

Targeting people (or their SIM cards to be specific) in a specific area and warning them about a hazard in their neighbourhood is the intended use, and it executes that perfectly. In addition we have implemented the traveller alert where we can send messages to all Icelandic SIM cards present inside another Country (another Country code), and send them messages about f.ex. terrorist attack and provide guidelines about where they shoud seek assistance if needed. A slight minus here is that you can only address entire countries, where it might be useful to have next level of area codes.

We tied Squadcast into our CI/CD pipeline for Airflow monitoring of workflows, and had it looking for failures and specific jobs. Then communicating out to a resource group with automated no answer or response next person communication. A lot of tools stop at one generic communication, but Squadcast allows you to take it a step further.

• Allows you to configure monitoring on events across the enterprise
• Very flexible in the channels that you can communicate to - i.e. Slack, Email, SMS, etc...
• Provides integrations into the systems that you use on a daily basis
• Has a very easy to use online interface that comes with little to no learning curve

• Can be costly depending on how deep your budget is!

I would really like to have easier reporting. What warnings were issued, when, and received by how many, by operator or area etc..

The support team has been very supportive, but there is only so much they can do, and of course sometimes things take a bit too long for my impatience.

Squadcast is a much more user friendly product that works with multiple platforms and tools. I can't say this easily for the other tools that I've used

• The government has the duty to equip itself with a mechanism to warn its people. It has allocated that duty to us, and we have chosen Everbridge to provide us the tool for that duty. It is very well suited to fulfill that role.

• Squadcast has allowed us to reduce cost of an incident overall by reducing time to find an issue, communicate, and get an assigned resource.
• Squadcast has created an increased awareness among teams in the enterprise of services and processes.
