I always ask if the other attendees are ok with my using the app. If they were not comfortable, I would turn it off. This is likely over-cautious, but I also am hesitant to use it in extremely sensitive and confidential conversations. I use it as often as possible and am heavily reliant on it for any status meetings where there might be action items for any attendee, etc
Great for meeting with teams that are out of state or working from home. When it's an in-person meeting, I tend to use other AI tools and take notes that then spit out a summary. I really love that you can see previous meeting notes, dated and action items, when scrolling down the page. This way you can follow up, keep people accountable, and track progress.
Fellow is very easy to use and requires minimal setup. It is very straightforward for a wide range of capability levels, and I love that it also has a calendar view where you can easily find past and future meetings. This is particularly useful when you prepare notes for a future meeting with details you don't want to miss bringing up. Plus, everyone in the meeting can see everyone's notes on one page.
otter is audio only, and doesn't monitor things like talk time. Both systems have great (relatively new) AI features. Fathom's is a little more functional (templates for notes that can be swapped out after the meeting. Otter's is a little more useful with the AI chat feature and the summaries are a bit stronger
Fellow is super easy to use, share notes, action items, and summarise meetings. The main perk compared to other programs is that you have everything in one spot and don't have to go looking for information. Everyone can see everyone's notes and the history thread for past and future meetings.
It was free until recently, so this is n/a. I do have a paid subscription now that they released new AI features, but those are too new to review.
The time I don't have to spend reviewing or rewriting my notes can be multiplied by my hourly rate, and would be a significant number if looked at on a monthly basis, but if you also consider the energy I get back and ability to be more present in meetings, that is priceless.
It is hard to measure exact numbers, but I believe we have saved many minutes not having to skim through emails to find action items by just looking up notes from older meetings.
