Filecamp vs. Pics.io

Filecamp lets you share assets with your team or external stakeholders. I was the admin (in my previous position) for a Filecamp install for +300 users. The assets can be available to all or you can share them with granular permissions. You can store images, videos, documents and other types of files. There's nothing I actually dislike... perhaps I'd like better reporting tools. But it's no biggie.

If you are looking for an affordable solution for logos, photos or videos this is one of the best solutions we have found. It handles several file types and provides a more affordable option than other DAM services. If you are looking for an enterprise DAM solution this is probably not what you are looking for but it doesn't pretend to be that.

• We are missing an InDesign plugin.
• Would be nice if you could give access to a folder but not to a subfolder or even a specific file within it. No other platform does this properly so this would really set Filecamp apart in my opinion.
• Custom thumbnails too complicated to create.

• Not a full featured DAM solution
• Interface is rather bare bones
• Limited options on websites to display assets

Extremely fast and helpful support. Our problems get solved in a matter of minutes

Helpful onboarding support and also a very relaxed introductory demo and trial period. The support team walked me through all stages of linking our Drive account and adding assets. The online support site has a ton of resources and helpful explanations. Email support was also a big help to get us started.

Unlimited users and ease of use! I like that Filecamp is our one-stop-shop for all our digital assets. It's so easy that we never have to explain our users or clients how it works. We're OS X users and everything seems really familiar which helps. Everyone who has interacted with it (team members, clients, and external press contacts) have been very happy with their experience.

Pics.io has a more approachable setup and pricing structure for our needs. It also uses a familiar online storage setup for an easier learning curve. We also didn't have to pay for a higher storage tier that we wouldn't end up needing. The other services were definitely in the running but the ability to use our existing Google account was a big plus.
