Fivetran replicates applications, databases, events and files into a high-performance data warehouse, after a five minute setup. The vendor says their standardized cloud pipelines are fully managed and zero-maintenance. The vendor says Fivetran began with a realization: For modern companies using cloud-based software and storage, traditional ETL tools badly underperformed, and the complicated configurations they required often led to project failures. To streamline and accelerate…

Chose Fivetran
Matillion requires a lot more initial setup effort and the resulting schemas are also much more "raw" data than the nicely cleaned schemas which Fivetran provides. Therefore it would also require more (manual) post-processing efforts compared to Fivetran. So the savings on time …
Fivetran is much easier to set up and maintain. Airbyte still had a degree of technical knowledge requirement that we didn't have the resources to commit. Fivetran allowed a non-technical employee to establish pipelines and immediately start using the data without having to …
We never seriously considered using anything else. Our data engineers had used Fivetran extensively in previous roles so when it came time to make a decision, there wasn't much of a process. They gladly signed the contract with Fivetran pretty quickly.
Fivetran came well with the connectors' availability and updates with the source changes. We had an idea on data requirements in our case which helped us to work out on cost implication and take a decision for Fivetran as a data provider for our organization. These were 2 …
Fivetran is more intuitive and easier to use than code-based ETL/ELT tools. The data modelling Fivetran performs makes the data more usable more quickly. Fivetran's dbt support and integration is unique.
Honestly, we haven't done much investigation in a while, it just works 360 days of the year. The other five days there may be a hiccup that will throw us a day off of data, but it gets caught up in the end.
SolarWinds Task Factory has a lot of SQL integrated SSIS in one location that makes it easy to automate nearly every business procedure without integrating with external applications.
We really did not look at any other products. We had already heard of SolarWinds Task Factory previously. We hired Pragmatic Works for a consulting project and they owned the product at that time and implemented it in-house.
ZappySys is an alternative provider that we tested. However, we found the ease of use, set up and installation to be much simplier and quicker using Task Factory. ZappySys has a number of the same connectors but are more difficult to setup and the GUI is not as intuitive and …
Task Factory does a fair job in terms of address parsing compared to COZYROC and also other variable features in terms connecting to CRM and SharePoint site.
We wanted more ways to connect with other sources and Task Factory offer the best suited solution.
Task Factory was also easier to integrate with our actual code base and was cheaper than the alternative. We were very satisfied with our choice and we recommend Task Factory to …
Cozyroc has a few more connectors, but Task Factory's focus on tasks is a better overall fit for us. ZappySys had some compelling features around web services which seemed a bit more robust, but that was not our primary interest at the time of purchase. Basically, all of …
When we were doing research on if Task Factory was a viable option for us, we found that the large array of tasks that it offers and the low cost of all of it was much better than the competition. We found that we would have to buy a culmination of tools just to pull together …
Task Factory is more than just components. It is more than just monitoring. It is an entire suite of tools for SSIS package development. And this is not a case of someone going wide but not going deep. Task Factory by Sentry One (formerly of Pragmatic Works) goes wide and deep. …

Chose SolarWinds Task Factory
No other product was considered because we knew we were safe with this product even when it was still Pragmatic Works (now Sentry One). Before using this product, we downloaded additional third-party tasks, some freeware, but a complete package like the one offered by sentry …
CData Software was evaluated initially, and while we chose to go with Task Factory initially due to cost and simplicity, in the end we had to purchase CData's product anyway when Task Factory was not updated to work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 v. 9 for months after it was …
In the arena of SSIS extension products and services, Task Factory is a strong competitor and checks all of the boxes we needed to have checked at a very reasonable cost.
[Fivetran is] very well suited when you are using popular and common data sources, such as the major ad platforms, and SaaS platforms such as Salesforce. If the majority of your data sources are custom internal applications or databases, may be less value as you aren't leveraging the delivered connectors.
Since I started working with this great tool all data analysis programs have been running effectively. Implementation of projects and tasks have been effective and reliable. Data collected from each department gives us working plan on better management of various programs. The Dimension Merge SCD Transform helps us to load large volumes of data within a short period of time.
It was built by Pragmatic Works who sold it to SentryOne and now Solar Winds, concerned about future support. SolarWinds is discontinuing support for related products such as BiXpress.
Had issues with connecting to certain versions of SQL Server - would fail when deploying one package - had to deploy the entire solutions.
Occasional random failures observed with the Filter tranform.
Task Factory has become a key product for our use of doing ETL work in SSIS. Their custom SSIS components allow us to work simply on the data engineering side of things. We can ignore the lower level work needed to connect to disparate data sources. This allows us to work faster and provide more value to the business
Very easy and intuitive to setup and maintain as there usually are not that many options. Very well documented (e.g. how to setup each connector, how the schema looks like, any specific features of this connector etc.). Also the operation is intuitive, e.g. you have status pages, log pages, configuration pages etc. for each connector.
It runs pretty well and gets our data from point A to point cluster quickly enough. Honestly, it's not something I think about unless it breaks and that's pretty rare.
Overall, the best vendor we currently have on the data side of the house. No issues, issues are resolved very quickly and upgrades go without any issues.
Fivetran came well with the connectors' availability and updates with the source changes. We had an idea on data requirements in our case which helped us to work out on cost implication and take a decision for Fivetran as a data provider for our organization. These were 2 places where Fivetran out-performed, other vendors.
I've not found too many tools to bolt onto SSIS that encompass what you get with Task Factory. I have used some Enterprise ETL tools like Dell's Boomi, but did not find it to be very intuitive. Task Factory does not leave you guessing how to use its components. Additionally, their support is very responsive and helpful.
We were able to support our developers with Task Factory features and reduce the development time by 40%.
Recently Task Factory has changed their pricing module and it seems to be pretty costly for our process. Our business team has started to evaluate whether this is worth it going forward.
