Considered Both Products
Codility
Chose Codility
The UI of Codility is very user-friendly. Reports of assessment are very detailed, but they can be more detailed. The database of Codility is very huge, but I still fill more questions that can be added.
Chose Codility
This was the best that integrated with our TA system (greenhouse) and we got positive recommendations. At a time we considered other talent acquisition systems, such as Success Factors, the integration was insufficient. Other than that, the talent acquisition Director was bios, …

Chose HackerRank
Though both are used as teaching mediums, hacker rank may be slightly better for beginners and is more generalized than the alternatives that would focus on just one aspect of computer science. However, they are not as large in terms of content as other products
Chose HackerRank
HackerRank is used by many other similar organizations so our targeted candidates are more familiar with the HackerRank interface. CodeSignal is nice because candidates can take one test and send it to many different companies. However, this means that individual companies have …

Codility is a great tool to use for candidates' technical assessments of our selection processes. It is easy for recruiters to use, friendly to the people that are tested, and easy to manage. The test report is great. As a recruiter with limited technical knowledge, I wish it could be easier for me to build a test by myself (understand the tasks easier - there could be a bigger description or training for us) without depending on the hiring managers who aren't always available. Also, most times the invitation e-mail to take the test ends up in the candidates' spam box.

I think HackerRank is very good for companies who have many candidates applying for specific coding related roles and they do not have time to interview all of them for the positions. It is a quick and easy way to screen out candidates before moving on to interviews. In situations where there are less qualified candidates for a role, or if the role is more specialized, it may be better to use another method than HackerRank.

Alternatives Considered
This was the best that integrated with our TA system (Greenhouse) and we got positive recommendations. At a time we considered other talent acquisition systems, such as Success Factors, the integration was insufficient. Other than that, the talent acquisition Director was bios, based on previous experience, so as IT, we didn't have much of discovery or selection to make.
