Greenhouse is the current tool used to assist with internal department job openings. It is used across the entire organization. I feel we could get much better use of the product. At present, it is mostly a staging site as it seems other platforms are used as well as Greenhouse.

Greenhouse is excellent for internal job listings, application tracking for both the company and the applicant. It is almost perfect. The main fault being in the area of referred applicants. The status would never display properly, oftentimes the applicant would not attach to the referral. This issue may have been a company issue and not a product issue, however, so I wouldn't say that's a downfall.

Greenhouse is well suited for helping with organizations looking to streamline their applicants. It gets everyone on the team on the same page and helps to streamline candidate scheduling, scorecards, and interview debriefs. It also helps frame what should be talked about in the interview from the interviewer's perspective. It is less appropriate at organizations without a lot of candidates.

This product has so much potential, good intentions, but they have overcomplicated basic functionality, UI is not intuitive and clunky. Basic actions, such as reviewing pipelines or scheduling interviews, take too much time. There are too many opportunities to customize the global system and make mistakes and the inability to edit some customizations. No customer service. The mobile application is not functional. In my experience, you work for Greenhouse - Greenhouse does not work for you.

Our Recruiting department owns Greenhouse and each hiring manager has a log-in to review resumes and record interview notes. Each person in the company also has access to Greenhouse to refer candidates. It keeps recruiting efforts transparent and streamlined and allows the entire company to get involved in some way.
  • Custom referral links for social media - I use these to advertise job postings. It is especially nice to have when there is a referral bonus on the line.
  • Allows each interviewer to share interview notes between one another and allows you to rate each candidate you meet. The interface is user-friendly.
  • I wish I had more control over the automated emails I receive through Greenhouse. I receive some but have not been able to configure others that would be nice. For example, an email is someone uses my referral link to apply to a job posting.
Greenhouse is great for growing companies with a recruiting department that need to give visibility into the job search across various departments. I can see how this streamlines a recruiters day-to-day and helps keep them organized with follow-ups, scheduling, and feedback.
I have not had to work with Greenhouse support/experienced any issues with the system.

Greenhouse is by far the most well-rounded ATS I have used to date. It is extremely collaborative, reliable, and supports a wide variety of integrations. I particularly enjoy the ability to parse resumes into the system, being able to "at mention" teammates and hiring managers, and all of the notifications I am able to set for myself to complete tasks.

It allows current employees to refer new candidates and to also quickly run through the interview process and summary. Greenhouse allows easy scheduling of interviews and keeps all candidate information organized in one place for quick review.

We use Greenhouse as an external and internal applicant tracking system. The tool is primarily used by our Recruiting team as well as Hiring Managers during the interview process. We are heavy users of the score cards functionality which is very customizable and robust. Last year we also launched the Diversity and Inclusion features.
  • Score cards- very customizable and provide ability to track more tangible and objective feedback.
  • Customizable offer templates- allows you to store many different offer templates that you can pick from.
  • Branded look and feel.
  • Integrations/API- very limited integration capabilities due to inability to store a lot of demographic information about the job that can then be passed to an HRIS with minimal manual data entry. HR still has to key in a lot of job demographic details about new hires. It would be great if Greenhouse was able to store more of this data and pass it on to other systems via integrations.
  • Custom Reporting- our teams are often unable to report on certain data in a way needed at the company level for analysis and this leads to having to dump data into a BI tool so we can report on it in the specific way we need to.
Greenhouse works best for companies using Job Management where one Job Req. can be used to fill multiple open positions, but job demographics are not used to differentiate between these positions.

If you are using Position Management where each open position represents a separate Job Req. and headcount, the lack of robust reporting and integrations may become a hurdle in achieving maximum automation during system integrations, mainly with an HRIS.

Our talent acquisition team primarily uses Greenhouse to calibrate the hiring process so that every candidate is measured on the same parameters irrespective of any bias. One member of the hiring team is unable to see the feedback of the other members, thus making sure that the existing feedback doesn't cloud one's judgement. Each interview has a specific objective and a corresponding scorecard to assess the candidate, which makes sure that the hiring manager is making the assessment for different candidates on the same performance metrics. The final hiring decision is made after collating the feedback of the entire hiring panel, making the process more unbiased and fair for the candidates.
  • Candidate scoring and assessment occurs within the system and one needs to submit the evaluation within 24 hours of the interview.
  • Greenhouse comes with a scheduling tool, which helps the recruitment team coordinate with the candidate for the time slots in accordance with the hiring panel availability.
  • Greenhouse provides complete control and flexibility to customize the recruitment process for different roles and positions and also integrate existing solutions like Google Meet and Zoom for video interviews, which is imperative in current pandemic times.
  • There is no way to configure different access for different users
  • Scheduling functionality has bugs, and very often one needs to go directly to Outlook or Google Calendar for scheduling interviews
  • Pricing is on the higher side, which can prove very expensive for smaller companies

Greenhouse is primarily being used at our organization for hiring new talent. This is being used extensively by the entire organization to make the hiring process structured and avoid unconscious bias in hiring. Overall Greenhouse provides an interview kit for the interviewer which has everything required to conduct an effective interview at one single place like Job Description, Case study or questions to be asked, candidate's CV and finally feedback and scorecard.
It also helps to make sure that candidates are hired on merit and one interviewer is not influenced by the feedback of other interviewers.

  • Supports integrations with tools like Zoom to make the entire process seamless which is essential in the new post COVID era

  • User interface seems to be archaic and needs to be updated
Greenhouse is a great tool to organize and structure your hiring process. It enables the HR department to make sure that recruiting is fair and without any bias. In my opinion, it's still better suited for larger organizations with multiple departments as the volume of hiring is high and a lot of management and preparation is required at the HR ,hiring manager and other stakeholders.

Greenhouse is used as our applicant tracking system. It is used by everyone at the company to hire, interview and share job postings with their networks. We use it to collect and track applicant data, schedule interviews, collect interview feedback, generate offer letters and run reports on our hiring. It solves the business problem of being able to hire and scale our hiring practices as we grow.
  • User Interface - it is nice to look at and easy to use.
  • Reporting - the ease of building and pulling reports is really helpful.
  • Scheduling - they've enhanced and supported easier scheduling in the tool.
  • Reporting for diversity pipeline fields by job.
  • Navigation when viewing candidates in a job -it takes you back to all candidates and you have to filter again.
  • Capturing offline activities like texting candidates.
I really enjoy Greenhouse and it is my ATS of choice. I like the layout, and general UI and I find navigation really easy. I know everyone works differently - and I always recommend Greenhouse as an ATS to look at because I enjoy using it so much! I do think that Greenhouse could be a little more thoughtful in their pricing and packaging - in order to really get the most out of the functionality for specifically depth of candidate reporting it is a pretty significant buy-up. I would like to see more transparency around this and maybe even work arounds for smaller teams who have reporting needs but maybe not budgets. One stand out for me is the google report connecter - that's a great tool!

We use it across our entire organization to handle all aspects of recruitment, as well as move jobs internally, and recommend potential candidates. It helps keeps recruitment and talent needs/steps all in one place and provide a synchronized experience both to the potential candidate and help internal employees track that candidates journey.

It’s occasionally finicky and doesn’t show available jobs to internal candidates so I’d recommend looking on the external official job board first.

We use Greenhouse as an ATS, Applicant Tracking System. Applicants through Greenhouse submit their initial application, any skills tests in the process, and any other questions we send them. Then our recruiters and hiring managers review applications and use Greenhouse to screen out unqualified people too.

Greenhouse is a great, centralized place for everyone on a hiring team to access candidate information, record notes, score candidates and more. We're also able to immediately submit whether or not candidates should be pushed through to the next stage of the hiring process. Additionally, we're able to track referrals for our own internal referral reward program.

Greenhouse is excellent for a collaborative, involved HR recruiting process. Our organization is still less than 200 people, so I'm not sure how it would work for larger enterprises.
