IBM Cloud Pak for Data vs. IBM Netezza Performance Server

IBM Cloud Pak for Data with Netezza is well suited for clients who require fast, economical analytics processing. It is not designed to be used as a transactional processing environment. For example, a large customer is using it during the point of sale process. That makes little sense in that business case. However, to take analysis to market faster, it excels well in that space.

as one with IBM Netezza Performance Server.

management.

For data processing and application dashboards, IBM Netezza
Performance Server is quite beneficial.

• Cannot save changes to some secrets in the internal vault
• Sign-in issues on environments where IAM is enabled
• The Enforce quotas option is disabled

• More tech support may make it easier as it is only limited to be done via company representatives
• Overhead cost for replacements and services looks like it is high compared to others
• Integration with other cloud based application will be great

IBM Cloud Pak for Data takes the IBM Cognos solution and provides this on an enterprise cloud platform that can be extended to support better data integration and data science capabilities.

Netezza is sufficient against similar products. It comes down to personal preference, I'd love to have the data objects popping up as I type but some people may not like it.

• The appliance is all in one so we have all licenses and support contracts under one roof.
• The cost is expensive so ROI may take time to be realized.
• If done correctly, then Netezza provides the opportunity for huge ROI.
