IBM DevOps Code ClearCase vs. Orbipay Payments Hub

IBM Rational ClearCase might be better suited for a smaller / simpler code base. Larger code bases really slow it down... but then again there are better alternatives out there for source control

Using Alacriti's Orbipay Payments Hub payments hub has made our backoffice team life so much easier. We use their product also for loan payment and having the same interface, reporting etc all in one centralized system has been tremendous. Visibility to payments performance, how people are using wire, ACH and instant payments allowed us to promote other products we offer our customers like instant cash loan, wealth management etc

• Rational ClearCase is excellent for handling versioning and branching. No other tool I've used has the depth that ClearCase has when it comes to handling complex branching scenarios and identifying where certain versions of particular files are within a particular configuration.
• Rational ClearCase handles parallel development of many dependent applications really well.
• The use of ClearCase Views to switch between projects and configurations is extremely convenient as opposed to the local workstation model of the competitors.

• Cross-rails reporting and dashboard
• Smart routing
• Payment and rails orchestration
• Integration with our core and OLB

• Extremely buggy.
• Sometimes the repository gets locked for no reason.
• Slow.

Easy to use, easy to adopt. My team is raving about it

If development is centrallized to one location and your company releases hundreds of customized versions of your software per year, then ClearCase is the best tool for managing the complexity of multiple versions of customized software. If your company has globally distributed development, then I'd recommend Team Foundation Server over ClearCase. If your organization uses Agile Methodologies, then I'd recommend TFS with GIT.

While the payments hub offered the richest solution feature wise while being the friendliest to use. Their team - all the way from sales, solution engineering, implementation and then customer success and support have been so responsive and professional that this alone would have sold Alacriti Orbipay Payments Hub to us. They are truly a partner

• Managed code versioning for many years.
• Only one person can edit code at a time - slows processing down.
• IBM is an expensive product to support.

• Due to automation we saved about 40% of our wires cost
• Exception management has not only reduce handling time but also increase employees satisfaction
• Our customers love having the instant payment options (both our consumer and commercial customers)
