IBM InfoSphere Information Server vs. ApexSQL by Quest

Information Server is extremely useful to replace manual developments that require a lot of coding effort. It significantly increases the productivity of the initial development and the future maintenance of the processes since it has a visual development environment with self-documentation.

ApexSQL streamslines and automate DBMS in no time, helps in implementing the auditing and compliance requirements and data migration and it also help in building scalable application and secure application like when we develop application using Apex SQL, it will become very secure automatically due to its build in features and also building small application and deployment of code is very easy When you have very large data size sometimes it run a bit slow.

• IIS best for ETL ,not ELT , and many and diffrent source systems.
• It also can process big data , unstuctured data
• It is not only DWH , you can use infosphere for analys and see the bigger architecture of your OLTP systems

• I would be nice to have a new web development environment for DataStage.
• Connectivity Packs such as Pack for SAP Application are a little pricey.
• It is confusing for new developers the possibility of developing jobs using different execution engines such as Parallel or Server.

• Source control can be a bit difficult with large database tables
• Many tools so can be complex for new developers to onboard and use efficiently

DataStage is more robust and stable than ODI The ability to perform complex transformations or implement business rules is much more developed in DS

ApexSQL by Quest provides many toolkits for sql server that stacks up against its alternatives such as Operation toolkit which includes capabilities like disaster recovery, backup and restore etc, DevOps toolkit which include automation, compare and sync toolkit which include comparison between source and target schemas. ApexSQL by Quest also ensures the privacy and security of data. For this mentioned reason, our organization select ApexSQL by Quest
