Overall Satisfaction with IBM InfoSphere Information Server

IBM InfoSphere is being used across the whole organization. The problem it addresses: DW/BI.

Pros

  • Parallel processing
  • Address verification using QualityStage
  • Single view of inormation

Cons

  • Parellel processing architecture
  • Big Data
  • Processing of XML
  • Increased time to market
  • BI Reports available on time
Information can be used for large but simple implementation. InfoSphere provides more intergaration options with outside world. Abinitio is great product but stopped innvoating and is not kept up to date with market needs and changes. Talend is good new product. Good Big Data capability.
  • IBM InfoSphere is great for large/complex implementations. If your implementation is small, do not bother about using this product due to its complexity and licensing cost.
  • Do you want to see a single view of information across enterprise- use this product.

    This appears to be more a review of DataStage and not the entire Information Server Suite of products
