ITRS Geneos vs. Statseeker

ITRS Geneos is well suited in any situation where uptime is mission critical.

Statseeker is an excellent choice to monitor a small, medium or large network. It uses SNMP to monitor switches, routers, appliances and really anything that has SNMP. The reports and output you can get from the system are invaluable. The speed of the system compared to other monitoing systems is great. Overall an excellent system.

• Apart from being the monitoring tool, it provides different features like capacity planning and log analytics.
• ITRS Geneos' new UI is quick, responsive and user-friendly.

ITRS Geneos support is well managed by its wide variety of options like live chat, query submissions, 24/7 on-call support, self help and of course well-documented details about its features and troubleshooting methods. ITRS Geneos is being used by many big size organizations because it is a stable product with a good pool of knowledge available about it.

Support is very good, however, they have been based out of Australia so you have to deal with the time difference. Once you get them they are excellent. I have heard they are shifting some of the company to the US so that should help with support.

Every tool that competes in the market with ITRS Geneos has its own capabilities and shortcomings. For our project, ITRS Geneos stands out since it is a stable product with a long history of serving large organizations with huge number of components to monitor. ITRS Geneos has upgraded itself to a new and better GUI interface and has offered integration with different tools.

Both are similar, but I feel Statseeker is more feature-rich and the user interfaces much much faster than NPM. The UI is not quite as good as NPM, but I believe the slimmed-down UI is what allows for such fast query speeds.
