Lab Management System (LMS) vs. LabVantage vs. NucleoLIS

Probably better suited for true lab users. It is less suited for managing data requests. Most departments in our organization have abandoned allowing customers to enter their own requests because it is too complex and cumbersome.

NucleoLIS has the flexibility to build workflows for any type of clinical test. I experienced all of the positives that Psyche systems and NucleoLIS had to offer when I was tasked with building a workflow for COVID-19 testing. We were able to establish a LIMS workflow for COVID-19 testing in a matter of weeks in order to ramp up our testing to serve our community when we were one of the only testing sites available.

• Worked very closely with us on developing the Statement of Work and provided us with a very good roadmap
• Programmers completed the changes and improvements on time.
• The contact for issues that arise on a daily bases is able to work with our people in a very professional basis.

• The currently LIMS system is web based. Unless you have java programmers on staff that can create new 'workflows', you will pay for the enhanced functionality

• Software as flexible as NucleoLIS does require time to implement.
• I would like to see more out-of-the-box solutions for specimen workflows specific for the testing being offered.
• There isn't a billing option but it does allow data to be exported to be used by third-party billing software.

We didn’t really have choice to use any other system. We probably would be able to better serve our customers with an issue tracking or help desk system.

I have used multiple LIMS systems in my career and have also developed internal systems for specific testing. NucleoLIS provides a great balance of developing a personalized system in a well-established and functional existing framework to build out each individual lab's workflows. This can be done without the need to have an entire IT department which I could not say for the previous systems I used.
