Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) vs. Pitch

Liferay Portal is a framework which comes with a fine grained security/permission model, (Web) Content Management, Authentication and Authorization, outbox portlets with different features to manage content or users. So if any business application has below questions then I can recommend not to use Liferay as a platform.

• Application is big but not content or user driven.
• Application with few static contents.
• Application with batch transactions(DB) i.e. insert , update db records in batch.
• Application with ERP capabilities.
• Application with Big Data support.

If we need to create a presentation that we know may take time, Pitch makes it very easy to create it in a fraction of the time because there are many presentation categories with dummy data and pictures which help as a guide and cut presentation development drastically. The end result is usually same or better than hiring a professional.

• Personalization
• Business to client relationship
• Customer management is better.

• Enterprise level of options can cause confusion
• Development documentation could be better

• Same type of features across all platforms.
• More templates can be added with more options of modification.
• Addition or more shapes to gallery.

We are currently using Liferay Portal and plan to keep using it.

Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) feels more professional than other similar products I tried or used. With this, I mainly mean the look or aspect when you are editing, setting or configuring anything in the platform, wether you are setting users, roles, creating new pages, adding components to them, or even configuring server or instance related configurations.

Pitch is a powerful version of Power Point, with enough features to create very professional and fast presentations. Canva is good but the results are limited, you need to get/buy something almost ready but with Pitch you can do it as fast but better looking and with more flexibility
