ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus is highly effective for organizations prioritizing ease of use, cost-effectiveness, and a single pane of glass for both vulnerability detection and patching. It is well-suited for organizations needing to manage a diverse, yet traditional, on-premise IT infrastructure (servers, workstations, laptops). It is good at securing remote endpoints by using an agent to scan, detect and patch workstations. It is good for both scanning and remediating vulnerabilities through the built-in patching tools. It is ideal for a smaller to mid sized environment using Active Directory.

Qualys Cloud Platform is well suited for organizations that need additional tools to secure and bolster their security from end to end. The automated, real-time threat protection is very quick to notify an admin of potential vulnerabilities and risks, as well as recommending quick fixes to resolve/close the gap before an incident occurs. QCP excels at portraying all of these in a single pane of glass, and find that the Qualys reports are more detailed than competitor product lines. One of our big issues with QCP is that you do have to pay for each scanner, which can quickly add up to large costs. For this reason, I would rate Qualys at a ~7 due to great features and functionality, but overall value could be better for a large organization. I would also say that QCP may make more sense for smaller organizations due to this pricing model.

InsightVM is great for finding all devices on your network and where the misconfigurations exist. We all have to patch our systems and applications, but it can be difficult to keep track of which systems are up to date. This tool is very helpful in filling in this gap and helping you organize that information. It is easy to get a big picture view of how your organization is doing from a vulnerability perspective, and it is equally as easy to drill down and get specific details that you need. Prioritization is crucial when it comes to this space, because you can never address every vulnerability, so you need to make sure the highest priority items are being remediated. R7's tool excels in this area and highlights items you weren't even aware of.

It really does well at vulnerability scanning, which it is well known for. It's accuracy at finding vulnerabilities is top notch, more so than a lot of other vulnerability tools out there. In an organization/company you want this kind of accuracy at finding vulnerabilities in your network/endpoints
It is very good at managing endpoints on a consistent basis, meaning you can add endpoints to Qualys and have the platform scan/track/protect for vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis, without user intervention
It does really well at separating out and identifying what levels of criticality each vulnerability should fall into. This way, an organization/company can attack the more critical vulnerabilities first

This program is really complicated, the multiple functions that are presented to us are not very clear and in some cases, it is a matter of intuition to execute a function, it is not very informative.
The interface of this program can be a real problem; for our taste, this program looks a bit messy, and the interface does not help or guide you to find the options you need.

From my experience of using this tool, sometimes it gives more false positives. A few times I had performed the scan on the same IP address using QualysGuard and Nexpose, but after comparing the scan results I had found that QualysGuard had provided more accurate vulnerability information.

Again, the usability of Qualys has been a pinpoint for this entire review. It was easily the worst thing about the product and because of this, I would not recommend Qualys to anybody in my field. This should be something that Qualys strives to improve if they wish to stay in business.

While I think it is a great tool and platform, I believe it (like all tools and solutions) is always evolving and the needs for clients are changing as the industry evolves and threats are upgraded. Cost is good, and support is helpful. Some things could be more granular and others could be easier to understand

They had a support page within the WAS to report any concerns or seek help. But the UI of that is not smooth. Regardless support staff were pretty responsive and helpful. They scheduled calls to understand and address our problems. Email support is good as well.

I gave it a seven due to the functionality and general ease of use after the initial setup headaches, but compared to Qualys, Rapid7 Nexpose falls short on features and ease of use. Their support drags this rating down a point as well. I have gone weeks with no update on semi-critical issues and typically have to make call after call to get a semi-coherent response.

I chose Vulnerability because it is very easy to use and analyzes threats effectively. I previously used Microsoft System Center; however, due to its complexity and lack of transparency, we decided to remove it from our company and keep only Vulnerability.

As described before Qualys is used to scan periodically the environment in order to check if there are some packages (Linux) or Applications (Windows) outdated, generating reports to the Service Owners, fulfilling what's is expected from us, attending all our expectations regarding the tool. That's why we'd choose Qualys to our organization.

Rapid7 InsightVM is a more professional tool than Nessus because historically, it was based on metasploit which is a powerful pentesting and exploiting tool. InsightVM covers more attacking scenarios and vulnerabilities than competitors and still a leader in this domain.cloud capability is also not available forNesuus and some other products. Rapid7 InsightVM is a way better as a pentesting tool in my opinion

By automating the scanning, assessment, and patch management process, VMP has helped reduce the time to patch for us by 40%.
It has provided continuous visibility into device health and overall patch state. This has helped reduce the amount of time manually checking and updating.
By prioritizing the list of vulnerabilities the tool has helped our staff stay focused on the high-impact risks and ensure that critical assets are patched first.

After spending 2 years configuring, tuning, troubleshooting, and ultimately having nothing but regrets, we migrated away from the tool and accepted the loss.
Support had a variety of opinions, none of them consistent. No best practices. Lots of secret tricks known by support, none documented or shared until after problems are found.
Consulting services are available to come out and do a health check of your deployment, for a fee.
