Memonic vs. Red Hat Satellite

The Memonic tool is a very powerful application that is hugely used by students, research scholars, journalists,s and corporate employees. It helps to jot down important points or a summary which makes a user brief the task with other people. Software is easy to use and has a basic touch. Content can be stored and shared easily.

What we really like, is the patching part, os usefulle and easy to manage. Something that we don't use, is the VM deployment from Satellite, since we have only 8 VCD licences and a 30-nodes VMWare cluster, it was pretty hard to manage on which physical node the VMs should run .

• Easy sync of data between any device.
• Notes are stored without ay hassle and can be fetched even if you are not online.

• Application is little bit out dated and can have a new UI.
• Basic Grammar and Spell check functionality should be added.
• Should include more security layers.

• Some things are confusing for new users of the platform
• More dashboards
• A more user friendly GUI

It is part of our daily job, without it, we will have to manually maintain a server with repos, update the repos, it will ask us a lot of time to prepare a new set of repos, and so on. Even if it is a bit tricky to use, and for a newcomer, it needs some time, we still love to use the tool, and we keep it up to date. Curerntly using v6.19.2

Not sure about this question, there a no other solutions that Satellites beside Foreman(free version without support) Are you talking about Red Hat in general ? If it is about RH, well, we like the support we have, all the tools available. We used to have a TAM, which as very interesting, but the new cost to have was way to high... so we deciced to let it go.

• We have been able to automate the update process to not require after-hours monitoring.
• Centralizing updates has greatly reduced the overall time servers are down and processing their individual updates.
• We are able to bring our own RPM packages in and stage them in the same deployment model as official Red Hat packages.
