MobaXTerm vs. Rocket Remote Desktop

MobaXTerm shines when executing commands for large numbers of Network appliances like Switches or routers. As network Engineers, when managing an extensive infrastructure, we need tools to reduce time and work. MobaXterm Split and MultiExec features helped me push configuration changes for more than 100 Switches within a few hours.

If multiple sets of credentials and User Directories are involved across the servers you're connecting to, this is a huge help in organizing them all and managing changes over time. Having multiple concurrent server connections in tabs instead of separate windows is also much more convenient. While we're only using RDP, there are multiple connection methods to facilitate a mixed environment.

• when I sign out of an RDP session, the tab should close on its own. If I lose connection, then the Reconnect option can be shown

It's very easy for any IT administrator to use, it's highly customizable and you can download it free for personal use. It supports every protocol you can think of, has built in power shell and allows for drag and drop of SFTP file browser. I recommend this tool for any IT professional.

The biggest advantage of MobaXTerm against others is ability to group servers in folders (according to the client, for example) and feature that allows you to connect to all kinds of servers: SSH, SFTP, RDP, WSL, Also, it is relatively cheap. Previous I used SecureCRT, but it costs about 200 $/ year, which is too high. MobaXTerm is 49/69$ and you can use it multiple years.

ASG-Remote is very flexible and with so many options available it makes the configuration you want for your setup super simple. Other products do not offer the extra features for database and reporting. As well, it offers all the connection types you can possibly think of. The ability to automate tasks for regular servers and workstations is amazing!
