Netskope NextGen SWG vs. SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset

Netskope makes it easier to manage SaaS apps such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Office 365, and other enterprise applications by allowing different rules for personal and corporate accounts. It provides detailed control over these platforms. For example, in OneDrive, you can set policies so that a user is allowed to share files only with a specific domain or individual, and restrict sharing in the opposite direction as needed.

I have found the toolset especially useful for scanning subnets to discover devices, and for setting up temporary real-time monitors when we are troubleshooting or setting up new connections. The most useful aspect has been the ability to apply the tools to help troubleshoot and pinpoint intermittent issues. More general tools like Orion often do not have the granularity to detect issues like intermittent packet loss which are especially impactful to applications like Voice. The toolset gives us another level of capability to dig into issues.

• Netskope NextGen SWG could improve in DLP enforcement. Sometimes policies don’t apply consistently across certain websites, even when configured.
• In custom connectors, DLP features are not supported.

• The unifying component that is intended to be the initial interface to the tools seems clunky. I prefer to start the tools individually rather than using it.
• The port scanner could use some improvements to make it easier to use.

I give Netskope NextGen SWG an 8 because it helps us maintain compliance and security effectively. The platform works reliably, and the granular control it provides over web activities is very strong. Compared to other solutions like Zscaler (ZIA), Netskope offers a deeper level of control, which makes it more effective for our needs.

The netskope next gen swg win the evaluation process in the follow features: - Better Deploy process - Don't depend of a VPN connection - Native SSL Decryption - WebUI of easy and quickly understanding - Device compliance evaluation - Flexible Scenarios of Deployment - A private network what connect more efficiently to the most used SaaS Services

I haven't compared any tools similar to SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset. This might be because I'm pretty biased when it comes to monitoring, and reporting solutions. I've found that SolarWinds provides the biggest bang for the buck in my opinion. I'm sure there are other solutions on the market that compete, but I haven't tried any of them because I've been very satisfied with SolarWinds.

• Complete Control of Web access regardless the location of user
• Deep Application control ( Eg. Allow access just the company tenant of a SaaS App)
• No Restrictions about the device type ( Eg. Windows, MAC and mobiles)
