Once Oracle Data Service Integrator is set up properly, it is quite simple to snatch data from a myriad of disparate sources and put them into a single repository. Due to cost factors, it is not for the faint of heart; however, if you can handle it, the benefits will quickly outpace the initial investment. To take full advantage of the power of ODSI, I would recommend the training that Oracle provides.

SAS Data Management Platform is very well suited if you have common data sources like Oracle, SAP, MS SQL, etc.. Still, if there are a bit more obscure, then you need to purchase additional connectors to connect to those data sources. It is well suited when you don't have a business team with strong technical/coding background as the drag and drop interface makes creating jobs and scheduling them quite easy.

SAS Tech Support is one of the best tech supports available. Not only do they respond faster, but they also have a global 24x7 support team that helps in case of production server issues. The staff is quite knowledgable and accommodating. They help you via e-mail, phone, or even WebEx if the issue demands. The solutions they provide are quite detailed and easy to implement even for someone who hasn't worked on SAS.

While we tested and evaluated multiple data service providers, we came to choose Oracle Data Service Integrator since our infrastructure was so heavily dependent on Oracle software. The implementation would be easier and the difference in the number of features and performance wasn't enough to sway us in another direction.

Read full review Return on Investment It provided terrific bulk data movement and data transformation services which we desperately needed It allowed to reduce development costs and lower the total cost of ownership among disparate architectures The enterprise edition's ELT allowed us to generate native code for wildly varied RDBMS Read full review The platform enabled us to have a single repository of customers to run campaigns on.
