Oracle Primavera Submittal Exchange vs. SharpeSoft Estimator

[Oracle Primavera Submittal Exchange] is very easy to train new users on it and have everyone on the same page. The daily reminder emails can be a pain but if there are documents needed from a trade it is a great way to remind the the it is in their ball of court to act accordingly and get the documents uploaded because there might be other trades waiting on them.

SharpeSoft [is] designed to be a day-to-day hard-bid estimating program. It is easy to learn and use, yet very powerful. I would not recommend this product to hourly service providers.

• It is very easy to navigate the site and find what you are looking for.
• They have a great support team.
• It is easy to remind different trades via notification of there are documents or submittals needed for them.

• Handles complex bid formats and bid submittal structures such as using bid alternates and non-tax bid schedules.
• This software is one of the easiest programs to learn and effectively use.
• This software is reasonably priced, but very powerful.
• Project support is timely, intimate, local and professional.

• The daily reminder emails can quickly keep filling up your inbox.
• I can't think of anything else because it is very easy to use.

• They need to put a search bar in the item master list so you can easily find work items.
• They could make the alternate package easier to use.
• The should find a way to allow the user to define at least one cost type in the program.

The interface if fairly intuitive and the graphic display of many forms and reports is much better than Procore. I started using Submittal Exchange about 17 years ago. Primavera has worked to add features, but I have not been able to integrate them all into my workflow. I still use the original features more than the new ones.

My company uses Submittal Exchange when required by the client. The cost is too expensive for us to select as an enterprise because other clients require that we use different software.

I think SharpeSoft is the best estimating product on the market for our type of work. It is reasonably priced and is very reliable. We have had very few problems with the software and the upgrades and support staff and reliable.

• It has allowed us to manage our submittals better and get the back in a timely manner to schedule projects accordingly and keep the flow going.
• It can be a little time consuming to get the project data entered but if done right, it is worth it.
