Railway is an infrastructure platform for deploying applications, databases, and background jobs without requiring teams to manage servers or create infrastructure-as-code configurations. Developers can connect a GitHub repository or Docker image, after which Railway manages builds, networking, Transport Layer Security (TLS), scaling, and observability. These deployment capabilities are available to coding agents through a first-party Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and a non-interactive…

N/A
Vercel (made by the creators of Next.js) is a cloud platform for static sites and Serverless Functions for a workflow. It enables developers to host websites and web services that deploy instantly, scale automatically, and requires no supervision, all with no configuration.
The platform aims to enable frontend teams to work while combining the best developer experience with a focus on end-user performance.
Vercel offers the best free tier and the most generous one among the listed competitors; however, their cloud services are more limited than Vercel's. The main thing is that Vercel supports multiple hosting options, which others don't. These are the sole reasons I prefer Vercel …

Comparison of Platform-as-a-Service features of Product A and Product B
For me personally, Vercel was the best choice for website deployment. As I said, it automatically detects every push to my GitHub repository and redeploys it. No overhead of manually reconfiguring every setting. The cloud features are limited but good. The scenario where I would say it lacks is the option to deploy one's backend. Engineers like me mostly prefer to deploy their frontend on Vercel.
Most of the website deployment work is handled by Vercel, especially for the frontend. It currently lacks backend code hosting, which makes me look for additional infrastructure or cloud providers that may not be as generous as Vercel and can be costly. This is the reason for an 8-out-of-10 rating.
Vercel beats Heroku and DigitalOcean by a mile with pricing. Since Vercel uses serverless infrastructure, we don't pay for servers that don't get used, which is great for smaller platforms. Vercel Support is also very quick to respond, unlike DigitalOcean who took a while to get back to me after they didn't honor platform credits they sent me.
