Fieldlens by RedTeam vs. SharpeSoft Estimator

Best for tracking projects, both big and small. Knowing what was budgeted and the actual expenses for a project is extremely useful. Also, it's helpful that you can review the amounts at all stages of the project to allow for corrections if the budget is being exceeded. It is extremely useful as a central depository for information.

SharpeSoft [is] designed to be a day-to-day hard-bid estimating program. It is easy to learn and use, yet very powerful. I would not recommend this product to hourly service providers.

• Handles complex bid formats and bid submittal structures such as using bid alternates and non-tax bid schedules.
• This software is one of the easiest programs to learn and effectively use.
• This software is reasonably priced, but very powerful.
• Project support is timely, intimate, local and professional.

• More flexibility with some of the templates.
• Cost could be lower.
• Integration with financial software.

• They need to put a search bar in the item master list so you can easily find work items.
• They could make the alternate package easier to use.
• The should find a way to allow the user to define at least one cost type in the program.

Extremely like to renew our use of Fieldlens by RedTeam. Program is very intuitive and easy to use. It helps keep focus on the project. Anyone can look and see the actual vs budgeted costs to determine if project is on track. Easy to train others on RedTeam with minimal oversight.

Extremely easy to use. Very user-friendly. Help is always available, but the program is very intuitive. Does not require extensive training to get someone up and running. We have a lot of people in the field that use Red Team. It is easy to explain over the phone how to use the system or to help them navigate the program if they have an issue

Procore is a different beast and solves different company issues. We use Procore to manage the external part of our construction business. Field superintendents upload progress notes and pictures into Procore. However, RedTeam is our main project resource as it can also handle our budgeting concerns. Both are easier to use but RedTeam definitely has the advantage.

I think SharpeSoft is the best estimating product on the market for our type of work. It is reasonably priced and is very reliable. We have had very few problems with the software and the upgrades and support staff and reliable.

• Hard to calculate ROI but it's a necessary product.
• While cost is high compared to other software, the robust features make it worthwhile.
