Overall Satisfaction with Fieldlens by RedTeam
We utilize the Red Team to manage actual versus budgeted costs for all projects. It serves as a central location to store all information for a given project. We also use it to track bid/awarded contracts and use the templates to create contracts. It is also useful for historic information.
Pros
- Central repository for information.
- Tracking costs.
- Ease of use.
Cons
- More flexibility with some of the templates.
- Cost could be lower.
- Integration with financial software.
- Hard to calculate ROI but it's a necessary product.
- While cost is high compared to other software, the robust features make it worthwhile.
Procore is a different beast and solves different company issues. We use Procore to manage the external part of our construction business. Field superintendents upload progress notes and pictures into Procore. However, RedTeam is our main project resource as it can also handle our budgeting concerns. Both are easier to use but RedTeam definitely has the advantage.

Evaluating Fieldlens by RedTeam and Competitors

Ease of use was the most important factor in our decision. We wanted a product that was easy to use and explain both to our in-house people as well as our field personnel. RedTeam checked all the boxes and still giving us more functionality to achieve our business objectives. Highly recommend RedTeam.
I would take more time to properly evaluate software. This would include have an extended trial period where we can imput our actual data as opposed to seeing a sales demonstration. Also, I would ask more questions specific to how we use the program so that there are no surprises after implementation. Also, I would get others involved early in the process.
