Tricentis qTest (formerly QASymphony) provides enterprise-level agile testing tools giving businesses visibility and control needed to ensure application quality in fast-paced development environments. Tricentis and QASymphony merged in summer 2018.
Rocket Aldon is perfect for simple changes to traditional IBM i development using RPGLE, CL, and DDS. It is great for finding related objects that are referenced in many locations and helping recompile all of these objects. However, Aldon has a particularly hard time with SQL views. For some reason, it is determined to lock every table related to a view even though this is not required by the operating system. Whenever one view references another view, you are always in danger of losing a view permanently if you didn't check it out and promote it. To clarify, imagine you created a view CUSTOMER_INFO. Then you make another view called CUSTOMER_SHIPMENTS that joins the CUSTOMER_INFO to a shipping table. If you ever change CUSTOMER_INFO and then promote it, there is a good chance that Aldon will delete the CUSTOMER_SHIPMENTS view and you will not get a single warning. It doesn't happen every time but when it does you are going to have a real mess on your hands.

Tricentis qTest integrates seamlessly with Jira, making it ideal for teams that manage user stories and defects in Jira while keeping test cases and execution in qTest. When paired with automation tools like tosca, Selenium, or WebdriverIO, qTest is excellent for aggregating both manual and automated test results in one place.

Tricentis qTest manages test cases very well and keeps step by step by details of each and every scenarios
Tricentis qTest provides all the details related to functionality in a single place which saves time and efforts of QA
QA doesnt require much knowledge for test case execution as every details are there in Tricentis qTest test cases which saves the time of knowledge transfer

We can add some more integration features with JIRA so the users can directly mark the test as executed from JIRA itself when functional testing is done.
Tricentis qTest can provide some features like sending reminders for retesting if there are failed test cases marked while testing to keep Tricentis qTest up to date.

It successfully balances deep enterprise functionality with a clean and modern interface. One of its strongest points is the intuitive, folder based navigation, which makes organizing test case and cycles feel natural. Learning curve is relatively shallow for the new team members to become productive without extensive onboarding. Also the deep integration with JIRA is a significant boost to its usability.

Support is hit and miss. Sometimes they give some great assistance and sometimes they are no help at all. It always seems like they can't replicate the problem but then they never try to get on our system to do deeper research. It's kind of frustrating dealing with them. Also, the website isn't that helpful.

Aldon provides needed functions for our current implementations and legacy systems. As we move toward modernization, we are going to look at alternatives from reviewing cost, integration capabilities and functionality
