Likelihood to Recommend Verifying critical results via SoftLab is a very well demonstration of its high functionality. You can add a message to the result that it's been repeated and results are confirmed. Also, you can add the name of the nurse who was notified of the result. Also, you can see the previous results right next to the current one with the date it was performed. All of these aforementioned features are available in the same window making it a very good experience to verify a critical result as a Medical Lab Scientist. SoftLab has been never less appropriate to face any scenarios. It has always exceeded my expectations.
Read full review Globally, the system is not very well suited. Lack of appropriate interfaces for instrument detectors is a good example. Watson lims can maintain sample traceability correctly however, it is clearly not designed for high throughput sample analysis. Our laboratory global efficiency significantly decreased upon Watson Lims implementation. New ''Analytical samples'' functionality was now well designed and have a lot of limitations. The Software validation provided and executed by the vendor is weak and showed major execution error also with poor documentation practice. Very disappointing.
Read full review Pros Receiving of specimens is highly convenient now and can be done via two platforms within the same software. We use a scanner to scan the barcode as opposed to typing in any info. So in addition to being convenient, it reduces clerical errors. Verifying results was never easier now with just one click. Patient results are verified and sent to the nurses and doctors. Also, to our convenience, a list of codes/messages are available such as this test has been repeated. In addition to keeping a record of calling in critical results. Logging in our daily core lab instruments QC results and maintenance tasks have now been transformed from paperwork to verifying and enter results via SoftLab QC which is very easy and enjoyable. Read full review Cons I have yet to find any features that are hard to use. I honestly believe that SoftLab is very easy to use and is 100% user-friendly. SoftLab has outdone itself as an LIS and needs no improvement. Read full review Watson have a lot of things to improve. The software has a old user interface absolutely not up to the current software standard. The backend is even worst. The software has a old user interface absolutely not up to the current software standard. The backend is even worst. The system crash regularly. The licensing service do not works properly, half of the time we need to restart the licensing server to provide access to new users. The process that needs to be used to allow samples analysis a result reporting is rigid and clearly not enough flexible. Multiple excel macro were internally created to cover aspect not supported by the software. Interface between Thermo Fisher Watson Lims and Thermo Fisher Q Exactive instrument do not works. Watson Lims cannot interface neither with current version of WinNonLin software. This is a major lack. Read full review Support Rating Support is not reactive and is slow. Support has difficulty recognizing and admitting software bugs when reported by the client

Read full review The only reason to have selected Watson lims software is for its (overestimated!) credibility in the industry.
Read full review Return on Investment As a Medical Lab Scientist, I believe that SoftLab made it easier and quicker to verify results meaning that results are available to Doctors a lot faster than before which in return may lessen the wait time of patients in ER which makes them happy and will definitely come back again when in need which is good from a business point of view. Read full review The only positive impact is for client facing. Watson lims is well known in the industry and the purchase of this software increase the credibility of our organization. The ROI is a disaster. First: The cost of the software is significantly to high, the user licences cost also contribute in the ROI disaster. Second: The implementation of watson lims significantly decrease our laboratory efficiency. Read full review ScreenShots
