Zanda Health, formerly Power Diary, is cloud-based practice management software for solo practitioners and group practices in mental health, rehabilitation, allied health, and wellness services. It centralizes administrative and clinical workflows for psychologists, counselors, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists, chiropractors, dietitians, massage therapists, and related providers.
TherapyNotes is ideal for any size practice with single or multiple providers/clinicians. Its scheduling, billing, EHR, and online portal are great for English speakers but not at all user-friendly to Spanish speakers. It is definitely affordable for a start-up practice and fees associated with merchant services are low compared to competitors.

The most important thing is that I feel confident that my client records are kept secure and private, and that Power Diary has strict security and privacy measures in place and compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. Data is encrypted, and two factor authentication is required to access the system. I can't think of any scenarios where it would be less appropriate to use.

Spanish documents are not available. There is not a way to use Spanish documents that can be filled out online like the English documents; instead, the practice must upload a PDF into the Library, share with client via portal and have then print, fill out manually, and upload for organization review and approval.
Sync feature from Client History Form is inconsistent. It may work with some clients but not with all. Sometimes the user has to completely log out and log back in in order to obtain partially parsed information to use in a treatment plan or psychotherapy note.

I think Power Diary is relatively intuitive however of late, over development of certain features with insufficient user experience testing, and, in my opinion, no desire to resolve the concerns of customers shows me that Power Diary's business model is not customer centric, but self centric and most businesses with this ethos fail in time.

To some degree, I think you pick TherapyNotes or SimplePractice much the same way people choose Toyota over Honda - It's a style preference. There are definitely differences between the two, but they function the same in many ways. Other EHRs that I've used were for medical practices and hospitals. They weren't developed with behavioral health in mind, at least not in the initial development

This is the first time I have used this type of practice management system. I used the Specialist Homelessness Information Platform (SHIP) in my previous role, which made it easier for me to transition to using Power Diary.

Saves time specifically with entering notes which means I can spend more time seeing clients.
Does not have the ability to enter dual caregivers. Challenging for parents who are divorced and signatures are required from both parents. It is not effective to have two separate portals for the same child.
