Windstream
Windstream is a widely available option for VPLS and other connectivity requirements. However, I believe they need to work on providing better notification and support of outages, service, etc. These services are also incredibly expensive, Windstream portrays a worthwhile service to accommodate your check every month, but it falls short. Windstream is available everywhere, but tread carefully when selecting a company that offers similar services.

XeneX SOC
  • They are very good at incident detection and management. We have been impressed with their ability to detect incidents, inform us in a timely manner, and help us remediate.
  • The platform is modular but integrated. So it allows us to add or remove services easily and as needed. This flexibility helps us with our budget and priorities.
  • XeneX SOC-as-a-Service offers the best value. We compared in a number of providers in their space. What we found out is that XeneX SOC-as-a-Service was the only company that has all the services we need in one platform but cost-effectively. In our due diligence we discovered that others did not have all the functions and cost significantly more. We have to find and manage multiple of other vendors to accomplish the same results and higher costs.

XeneX SOC
  • The only areas of improvement that we can mention is that they are on top of everything and expect us to move as quickly as they do which sometimes is not possible or practical for us.

Alternatives Considered
Windstream
Windstream was the only option for what we needed. It was available in Wisconsin, Iowa, New York, and Utah for all of our plants needs. It was also a service that has been used for years so we have not searched elsewhere for an alternative option. Many people have heard of Windstream, which gives it crediblity with IT professionals

XeneX SOC
We evaluated multiple of SOC-as-a-Service providers. It came down to value proposition. XeneX SOC-as-a-Service has many integrated modules and cost-effective. Others did not have all of our required services and cost more. So there was a clear winner in the selection process.
