What is AKAI?

Akai is an Agentic Workflow Orchestration platform from Deel for automating operational processes across business systems. Teams demonstrate a workflow, describe it in natural language, or supply process documentation. Akai generates the workflow and system connections for review, then executes approved steps using agents, scripts, and configured human checkpoints.

Key Capabilities
  • Workflow capture and construction: User-initiated recordings capture browser actions, underlying network requests, and spoken instructions. Teams review the generated sequence, decision logic, connections, and exception handling before execution.
  • API and browser execution: Akai uses documented APIs where available, builds connections from captured application requests, and falls back to browser navigation. Workflows can run on schedules or triggers.
  • Controlled execution: Teams can combine adaptive agent reasoning with deterministic scripts for calculations and rule-based steps. Approval gates can pause execution before payments, submissions, or other write operations.
  • Shared operational context: Agents exchange context and hand off work. Invited teammates can join an active session, observe execution, and contribute under their own identities.
  • Monitoring and auditability: Execution records show workflow steps, exceptions, and user contributions. Permissions extend to individual actions, while workflow changes have version history.

Audience & Use Cases
Akai serves finance, payments, logistics, and regulatory operations teams. Examples include reconciling invoices with bank payments, preparing correcting entries for approval, processing payout batches, collecting compliance documents, and updating carrier or government portals.

Technical Specifications
Akai is a standalone product with its own contract and pricing; a Deel subscription is not required. It uses external language models for reasoning and encrypted credential storage for system access. Public materials invite customers to request early access, with implementation support during onboarding.
