I've used AlphaSense with the last two companies I've been with for different Market and Competitive Intelligence research. Particularly usefull when trying to find information on topics or companies that are not regularly available in other type of information services. It also works as a great time saver to sort through tons of information in a quick and practical manner.
Pros
Availability/variatey of valuable sources
Search functionality (keyworkds, filters)
Ability to save dashboards and workflows
Cons
Notebooks
AI generated content
Likelihood to Recommend
Very well suited as the starting point for any kind of research whether it is on broad topics or looking at specific companies. Allows to build a decent knowledge base in very short time leveraging reliable sources and experts content.

As a competitive intelligence analyst, I need to be able to access near real-time data about the activities of competitors, what is happening in the market, and what issues need to be tracked that could potentially impact our market. Alphasense helps me stay on top of key market trends as well as news that mentions competitors. I use Alphasense on a weekly basis due to the quality of information. I also use Alphasense to read analyst reviews and earnings calls. Alphasense highlights sentiment, which makes it much easier to quickly understand a large amount of information and also makes it easier to send to higher-level executives since sentiment is marked up already.
Pros
Key market trends- I input a topic name and get information related to the topic.
Competitor filings- Alphasense is able to get all the regulatory documents quickly.
Earnings calls- Alphasense now provides transcripts, which is incredibly helpful when I can't attend the earnings call live.
Cons
The dashboard changed its layout recently which makes it hard to relearn.
There are local websites that repost news articles. Alphasense frequently misses posts about competitor activities when news sites mention a competitor.
If there were some sort of effort to track competitor ads (visuals), that would be extremely helpful.
Likelihood to Recommend
Alphasense is great for tracking subjects revolving around a topic. Also incredibly useful when I have to do a deep dive about a competitor in a field that is adajacent to the one I work in. Analyst reports are fantastic and worth the additional cost. Less helpful when it comes to things like tracking marketing efforts (search and display ads, social media campaigns, direct mail, radio/tv commercials). I have to use alternate sources for that. Also, I utilize linkedin to see public job postings of competitors because that potentially has a lot of useful and public data for understanding my competitors next actions Not appropriate for tracking pricing due to the way pricing is hidden from competitors and price is based on service address
Its a nice research tool. I use it to get market intelligence, competitors intelligence as well as financial data on timely basis. Its user interface is quite user friendly and customer support provide support and guidance whenever needed. Its inbuilt AI feature to search for any information we are looking for is quite useful.
Pros
Its Advanced search capabilities is quite impressive. We can carry out complex searches in the platform
It provides real time monitoring and alerts for news, and earning reports
It helps in competitive intelligence. We can add companies in watch list and keep a track on them
Cons
None as such just that when the user use it in the initial phase, the platform is little confusing but once have proper training its quite easy to use
Likelihood to Recommend
SUited for financial research, competitive intelligence, risk management, market intelligence
Nit suited for marketing use cases

I personally use AlphaSense to be a singular all-inclusive platform to produce accurate information.
Pros
Accurate information.
Gets past paywalls.
Does a great job of highlighting key information.
Cons
Send alerts on watch lists.
Uses keywords to highlight automatically.
Lets you know when companies are about to send their earnings call.
Likelihood to Recommend
I can create a watchlist in which all of the areas of interest create alerts in that I am able to easily able to locate that section and see what is new within those companies or searches.
I use AlphaSense to research current and upcoming public policy in North America and abroad. For example, using it to stay on top of developments around COP28 and energy companies. It saves me a great deal of time and effort, so instead of scouring the web, I can use AS to gain quick access to hundreds of pieces of information and some behind paywalls.
Pros
Fast
Detailed
Timely
Intuitive
Cons
Cost
Availability of major publications.
Email notifications.
Likelihood to Recommend
AlphaSense is very well suited for researching public policy in various jurisdictions, but it may not be as appropriate for looking up the latest news stories or very emergent topics.

AlphaSense provides a simple & direct platform that scours online & proprietary sources for information tailored to keyword searches. It saves a lot of time by not having to google & search through different resources such as investor sites, SEC forms, etc. It helps to insure that no information is slipping through the cracks as far as reasearch goes.
Pros
Detailed searches of proprietary & online resources revolving around keyword searches specific to industries or companies
Access to proprietary transcripts & sell side reports
Ability to download sources & financials pulled from pdf sources
Cons
Access to more proprietary sell-side research & investor conference transcripts
Likelihood to Recommend
AlphaSense is well suited for scenarios revolving around market or company research in which you may be looking at a new industry or space and are looking to get a full rundown and picture of resources available. It is less suited for scenarios in which you are trying to find competitors to specific companies or any particular capital structure/investments made by companies

AlphaSense is invaluable to our team when we are conducting peer research to find out how others are approaching or messaging key topics. The tool saves us hours of research work and creates a report in mere minutes. Additionally, the sentiment tool in the AlphaSense platform helps us get a better handle on tone and hopefully helps thwart also-trading based on the sentiment of news releases and transcripts.
Pros
Sentiment tracking
technical key word searches
comparisons
Cons
Quick tips & trick could be helpful while using the platform.
Likelihood to Recommend
For lean teams, AlphaSense is a lifesaver in terms of finding key data without with work of combing through pages and pages of disclosure. The sheer volume of sources that AlphaSense taps into is so valuable, but can also be refined depending on what you're trying to get out of it.
