Apache Atlas has been a great tool for managing extensive data for an enterprise, and users have attested to its ability to solve various business problems. One common problem the product solves is the lack of centralized data management systems. With Apache Atlas, it becomes easy to capture and manage data correctly, reducing redundancy at a large scale. Users can leverage metadata as an index to get to the data they need faster, implementing searches using a graph engine that processes information at a terabytes per millisecond rate.

Users have also found Apache Atlas to be user-friendly, suitable for both novices and highly experienced users. This attribute makes it an excellent starting point for integration into international businesses. Additionally, the automated data classification feature is very useful, especially when it comes to quickly and accurately classifying data. Furthermore, Apache Atlas helps users create a data catalog for legacy applications and an asset catalog, clarifying them and making it easier to manage data properly and remove redundancy.

User-friendly UI: Reviewers have found the user interface of Apache Atlas to be very user-friendly. They stated that it was easy to navigate and maintain the system, making data governance and metadata management a breeze.

Query Saving Feature: Several reviewers appreciated the time-saving feature of being able to save selected queries for future use in Apache Atlas. They found this preset query storing functionality highly beneficial for managing their data.

Customizable Metadata Management: Many users praised Apache Atlas for its ability to define new types for metadata management, which allowed them to customize the tool according to their specific needs. This feature made it easy for them to achieve their desired purpose via APIs or pub-sub models.

Difficult Initial Setup: Some users have expressed negative feedback about the initial setup and learning curve required to fully utilize Apache Atlas. They feel that it takes a lot of effort and resources to set up, which can be a significant barrier to starting.

Data Governance Needs Improvement: Some users feel that the data governance still needs more work and that tools need to be added. They also suggested that the quarry language DSL needs refinement.

Slow Response Time: Multiple reviewers mentioned that the response time could be improved, although they did not have any other dislikes about the software.
